Boobs After Breastfeeding!?!?!

Sorry to say, but they do not go back. It's just part of being pregnant. Breastfeeding has nothing to do with it, so don't regret that.

Sorry to tell you, but mine never went back to normal. They are flat, droopy pancakes. I'm expecting baby #3 and I'm kind of excited to see them looking larger again.

I BF for 15mo. I was a solid B cup before pregnancy and after I weaned I'm now an A cup. Yes they looked deflated, now not as much but they're not back to normal either.

Deflated boobs has nothing to do with nursing. Its pregnancy, hormones, age, heredity, and being engorged after birth, which happens to EVERYONE, whether you are nursing or not.

I was a DDD before babies, a solid D while pregnant and nursing (yes, smaller) and my last nurser is now almost 6 (nursed for 2yrs) and I'm back to a DDD. I'd considering a reduction, they don't need to be this big.

My mom didn't nurse any of us, and she deflated after babies. Every body is different. You nourished your baby for a year..... even if it WAS the nursing, isn't it worth it? Your body will change over the next year too, and as you age, get pregnant again, etc.

I have to disagree with many of the other posters. I nursed for 19 months and now almost 4 years after my daughter was born my boobs are almost the same as before I had her. They are neither deflated (they did look a little sad right after weaning) nor saggy. They do have a slightly different shape than before, but I actually think they look a lot better now.

How your body bounces back after pregnancy and nursing is different for everybody AND it is largely a matter of perception. When I had just weaned I felt my boobs were pretty small and deflated, BUT I was still wearing my nursing bras, which were 2 sizes bigger than what I was before pregnancy. Once I got a couple of new bras in my actual size (B cup, exactly what I was before) it all looked a lot more proportionate.
It also depends on the condition and genetics of your skin. If your boobs grew a lot bigger, you gained a lot of weight or your generally have skin that is not very elastic, you may have less bounce back.
I would suggest getting a couple of new bras fitted as soon as you are done for good and see what happens.

Some people had no issue. Some people got bigger ones. Some people have gotten smaller ones.

Baby #1 - nursed/pumped. After, they NEVER went back to normal. Nope, they were gross, flat pancake boobs that could be folded in half. Empty little bags on my chest with nipples hanging in shame, pointing at the ground.

Baby #2 - for a myriad of reasons I did not nurse. Boobs plumped up nicely during pregnancy. They shrunk a little bit but did not get saggy and deflated like with baby #1. It's like I got the girls back!

Three kids later and breastfeeding all of them. My boobs are the same way. My hubby has also in return offered to get me a lift and small implants. I don't want big boobs just a full B cup like before. I went from D,C, and now small B after my three and they are a bit saggy than normal. I hate that more than my stretch marks because I don't feel sexy. My hubby even makes fun of them sometimes. But I am determined to get that surgery. Until then I have to embrace it and remember I have three amazing girls. Sorry!

Pregnancy is the main cause of sagging or deflated breasts. Between the immense hormonal shift that occurs during pregnancy and the immediate rush of milk from giving birth - that is the culprit. Many women who have NEVER breastfed still have this issue. I would recommend breastfeeding another year if possible and slowly wean her then. The slower you wean the better results I've heard women have.

its a really good idea to wear a good bra regardless of how your boobs look, starting yesterday :)

oh, but be careful of underwires, esp when you are weaning, i always wore them, but you have to pay attention.

everyone is different, but its really from the pregnancy and the milk right after, not necessarily the breastfeeding itself.

Sorry, but I don't think they will ever be the same. I nursed my 2 kids for a year each and lost nearly 2 cup sizes in the end! My boobs are flat and embarassing but my kids are worth it. So I just invested in push up padded bras.

Wishful thinking that boobs will be nice after breastfeeding. Im 22 and breastfed my 2 yr old for a year and am currently breastfeeding my daughter. Im pretty sure any 80 yr old woman has nicer boobs than me now. Push up bras help, but they won't ever be perky again.

I'm back to where I was pre-baby, but they are nicer. Wish I could have kept the larger ones, but it's okay. I didn't really expect to. DD stopped nursing a few months ago.

Supportive bras are always a good idea. Unfortunately, when boobs look deflated, they don't really go back to "normal." Unless you get a lift or implants, there isn't much you can do. Sorry :(

My sisters and I are all saving up to get our boobs jobs next summer. We're all done having babies and nursing them, so we're celebrating with a little lift!

i had 3 kids, i breastfed all 3 of em for varying lengths of time, with the longest being my middle for 11 months. with each one my boobs became smaller and smaller and now they look like deflated as well. It is a sad sad thing and my dr says breastfeeding had nothing to do with it, just being pregnant and horomones but im not sure i believe her! i hope someday they go back to normal but i wont be holding my breathe. I started my first one a small c and now im barley an a.......i have a friend who started an a and is now a d and she also had 3 and breastfed em all!

As you may have noticed from reading your other responses, it kind of depends. I had 2 kids. The first one only nursed for about 4 months but the second one nursed for 18 months. I started out as a a very full D (sometimes a DD). When I finished nursing the second baby, my breasts were quite sad looking. I don't remember how long it took but they got a lot better! It's true they are not nearly as full as they used to be but honestly, they look pretty good considering I'm almost 40. Hang in there and in the mean time, go to Nordstrom or another really good store (not Victoria Secret!) and have them help you pick out a good supportive bra!

Sadly, mine never went back to normal. The best they have ever looked was when I was breastfeeding! I am not really looking to the time when my DS#2 is weaned - I really like my bf boobs! LOL. You just have to go with a good push up bra or something afterwards ;)

Sorry darling, they dont' go back to normal. What they look like now isthe new normal. After breastfeeding, your boobs go to pot. Deflated is the correct description for them when you wean off.

Speaking as a post menapausal woman...I got my boobs back! I was small before pregnancy...got bigger during pregnancies/nursing...(my mom teased me that I was preggers and nursing for so many years because I had cleavage!). For a few years...smaller and deflated...and now at 52...a very full c cup!!!

So...there IS hope!

After breastfeeding 2 babies.. I had gone from a B cup to an E cup back to an A when i was done breastfeeding. It was NOT a pretty sight! I used boobpop serum consistently for 8 months and it worked wonders! I've been a full C/small D ever since.. I recently gained weight, lost, then gained again and wanted to give them a Perk boost.

Sorry to burst your bubble but they do not go back to normal. I had a wonderful full C cup before my son. I was only able to breastfeed for about 3 months and my son is a little over 3 now and they still arent normal.... They look like a balloon that a kid forgot about in the corner or a rock in a sock. It disturbes me that i will never have beautiful boobs again. If you have stretch marks as well, they will never be normal. lol. Sorry about the bad news. Good Luck!!!!

I am on day 4 of being done with nursing and my boobs are actually bigger than before I had the baby. I still have some weight to lose so maybe that's why but they don't look deflated at all. They look just the same only one size bigger. I am going out today to buy new regular bras since my pre prego ones are too small and I am sick of wearing nursing bras..lol Every one is different and their bodies are too. Get them done if you don't like them.

I breastfed #1 for 3 months and went from a C to a B after breastfeeding. Baby #2 came 6 years later and breastfed for 11 1/2 months. I was a B, but 3 years later am like an A-. Lol. I hate my boobs, but I'm tiny anyway so it looks proportionate to my body.
My husband promised me that once we have our 3rd (and last) baby done with breastfeeding that he'll buy me boobs. :) And he's not even a boob man! He just wants me to feel secure in my body.

They might come back a bit but not to normal. Sorry! Push up bra and chest exercises could help. 2nd baby was worse for me. Went from 34c to 38a!

Ever since nursing my son, I have said the he sucked the life out of them. Mine were only b's before but could fit into c on occasion. After my son, I was a b- no shot for a c at all. and there weren't saggy cause there wasn't much to sag per say, but they were not a perky as they were before. I am no pregnant again and boy do they look great! They are full D's! but I know, this is short lived. Once I am done nursing they will no doubt be gone again. I have told my hubby for years- once I am done with all my kids- I am getting a lift for sure! and maybe a little extra added in. ;)

After breastfeeding my kids, my boobs have become pancakes. I have done a lot of research and found Boobpop. I like that it is natural. I have been using boobpop tool for about a month now, and I'm starting to see a difference. My breasts are becoming firmer and fuller.

i just weaned,,,,,im a tiny bit deflated. but im currently working the muscles around the breasts to lift them as much as possible. If that doesnt work breast lift!

I cannot shield you from the reality: yes, they do get smaller. At least you've got something to work with.:)

What helped me immensely was to go to a more classic shop which sells not 'sexy lingerie' (no Fredericks or Victoria's Secret) but Foundation Garments; a real lingerie shop. Get a fitting from a pro, and tell them what you want. Some places will charge a reasonable fee for the fitting, but will waive it with purchase. I received great service and found that the bras at department stores were poor fitting because they don't go to the larger sizes, so the band and cup don't always fit correctly. I thought I was a DD until I went-- I'm actually larger; I was wearing the wrong band size. Overall, this will help because the bra will be more supportive. Thus, a better silhouette when clothed!

I know it's sad but true!! Eventually mine puffed up a little but not enough.

Wear a really supportive bra, so they in no way hang or pull down. They will change while you wean, but may come back to normal. I certainly dont have pancakes & I BF 3 (still nursing, but they "came back" twice) They may not be as full, or the exact shape, but they arent that different either. You have to expect some changes, bigger rib cage, hips, or slightly different physical shape. Try not to see it as a bad thing!

Um--get pregnant again:) My breasts went from a C cup to a DD when pregnant and nursing #1--Back to closer to a D after weaning but kinda saggy. On the bright side my boobs hurt so bad when I got pregnant with #2 that I kinda wanted my little ones back. They look awesome now but are so uncomfortable! I suspect they'll be shrinkage after weaning #2 as well. Variety! I've heard it is pregnancy itself that causes the changes not nursing necessarily too
