If you are in Omaha I would highly recommend AirTech Service ###-###-####. They are a small family-owned company with GREAT costumer service and are highly specialized in boiler work. Good Luck!
The boiler in my rental unit (I am the landlord) may be broken down. I just got the call this morning that it isn't running, and it's freezing in the house.
I haven't had it serviced (ever) and am at a loss as to who to call.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks!
Thanks everyone! I will keep the list of names to call in the future. It seems that the problem was simply in the thermostat! Whew!

We have a house in Sherman Hill w/ a boiler. I called my great boiler company - R & D Plumbing out of Altoona. Unfortunately, their boiler guy is out w/ an injury. They recommended Thrasher Service: west: ###-###-#### and east: ###-###-####. Good luck!
Also, if you have the means & your boiler is old, it is likely worth it to get a new one. They are very small and it will save you a lot on your gas bill.
I think some poeple aren't reading your question close enough =) I would start with calling a Heating/AC place. Even if they can't help you, hopefully they can point you in the right direction to someone who can.
Call a heating and cooling service person. Unless you are in a tiny town, the yellow pages should list someone.
I would call your local Heating and AC Co. They might be able to come in and service it and take a look to see if you need a new one. Heads up they arent cheap!! My husband isnt here right now he owns a htg/ ac co with his folks and I could get a better suggestion for you but as for now call a htg company and see if they can come out.
Not too many people service boilers, but when ours went out we called Centerpoint/Minnegasco. We ended up having to replace ours ($5000 - ouch), but if you're renting wouldn't that be the responsibility of your landlord?
Good luck! I hope it's an inexpensive fix!
I would start by calling a heating/AC service, hopefully they can at least point you in the right direction... if they can not keep calling the many heating/AC listings in the yellowbook.
You might have to replace the whole thing but you could get lucky and it could be a much "easier" and cheapier (in the hundreds instead of thousands) to fix.
My step-dad owns All-Ways Mechanical Services and he works on a lot of commercial and apartment buildings. He does boiler work all of the time and is competitively priced. His name is Ron & you can reach him at ###-###-####.
