Oh how scary S.. Haven't had any personal experience with this but I'm sure your pediatrician can give you some answers. Let us know.
Hi folks my 11 yr old son was shaking for about 15-20 minutes this morning. It scared me to death. He wasn't cold or sick. He couldn't stop shaking. Has anyone experienced this with their child?
I don't have a pediatrician because we lost our health cover. this year. However, i did speak to a doctor I trust who told me that it did sound like an isolated incident, maybe a bad dream, and nothing to worry about unless it happens again and again. My son shared with me after the fact, that he had the most realistic nightmare. So that piece of info puts my mind at ease, but of course will be keeping an eye out. However, I am also going to schedule a physical for him .Thanks for your responses .

I hope you called your pediatrician... The only time my daughter has shook like that is when she was breaking a 105 fever.
S.,
This is just a complete shot in the dark, but does your son happen to have any anxiety issues? My husband suffers from anxiety and sometimes he gets body tremors. I definately agree with everyone else that you should call your pedicatrician. I'm sure it's nothing serious but worth checking into.
Take care,
S.
I would recommend that you do have a physical for your child. It is common for children to have seizures and to exihibit signs of shaking or unable to communicate for 30seconds to minutes with blank staring. I am an ER nurse and have seen this before. Also it could be a night terror which the child will sleep so deeply that it is hard to wake them from this. Seizures in children can be sporadic and even common but it is still a good idea to have your child have a physical yearly to keep record of things like this. Keep being the wonderful mother you are and have a blessed day.
