My husband went to the ER because his calf has been hurting really bad for the last couple days. His calf is really swollen too. We were afraid that it could be a blot clot. Anyone have experience with this?? I'll probably hear more from all of you before he even gets in to the doc. UGH!! Thanks so much!!

my uncle did. he had like, a 3 inch clot in his leg. he had to stay in for a few days on blood thinners, but he was ok eventually.
I think it's really great he went to the ER. If it is a blood clot, and it does sound pretty likely, it could have been serious, so it's much better to have it looked at! I'm sure the waiting is terrible!! Hang in there and wait to hear from him, but you/he did the right thing!! The docs will be able to break it up or put him on blood thinners. Let us know what happened!

I had a blood clot in my arm, of all places, and it was extremely painful. I also had a very high fever and was dizzy. The treatment was pretty simple and it cleared up.
When my calf started hurting me, I thought I pulled a muscle but things got worse, to the point I couldn't walk. A trip to the ER and MRI completely ruled out a blood clot. I had a pinched nerve in my back of all things.
It's best not to take any chances and I'm sure they'll take good care of your husband either way.
