I have been to the ER several times with painful issues I've been having! Last visit the Dr. tells me he thinks my bladder is falling and I need to see a Gyno to ck on that or maybe even bladder cancer! My huge problem is that I have no health insurance and can barely survive financially without medical issues...so can anyone give me advice about where I could get good help! All the amazing doctors people have been listing to help with bladder issues from falling bladders after hysterectomies, all sound wonderful but I doubt they would be very helpful to someone with no insurance! Can anyone help me with that?

What can I do next?

My only suggestion is to go through John Peter Smith or Parkland hospital, depending on where you live. They go by your income. Me and my 19 year old don't have medical insurance either and I'm going to go next month to be classified as bad as I hate to.

Our family likes to at least try natural things to correct medical issues. Go to "Years to your Health" in downtown Irving off Irving Blvd. Tell them what your issue is & they have natural herbs (in pill form) to correct the problem. It is really worth your time & money! I had a Urinary tract infection after taking antibotics for an ingrown toe nail infection that I'd had cut out prior & not only did I get rid of it but it cleared up the other infection as well as the antibotic did nothing for my toes. Their web site is www.yearstoyourhealth.com .

JPS health connections. They have great doctors and you get great care. I needed to have a colonscopy because there is colon cancer in my family background. I, too have no health insurance and after going through the JPS Connection program, I was able to get one for only 200.00. Great care and great doctors. Go through the screening process and that will get you started.

L.,

I had a hysterectomy and my bladder "fell"/prolapsed. I also experienced some pain and discomfort afterward and finally went to a urologist to figure things out. Turns out that I am/was/had become (don't know which!) estrogen deficient. I had to start taking hormones and that got rid of the pain.

I still have a prolapsed bladder. I may have to have it fixed someday if or when it starts leaking but it doesn't cause pain. I hope you follow up on this and get it checked out. If it is "merely" a fallen bladder, you might be able to use a "pessary" to hold the bladder up temporarily until you can save enough money to have the bladder lift. Ask the doctor (gyno or urologist) about it.

It will help to ease your mind to see a doctor and get rule out the cancer question. If it is cancer, please read Suzanne Sommers' new book: KNOCKOUT: Interviews With Doctors Who Are CURING CANCER and How to Prevent Getting it in the First Place.

There might be other reasons why you are having pain. The Urologist I went to sent me for physical therapy for pelvic floor strengthening (the good old kegels from birthing classes) and the therapist found many areas of pain in my pelvic area and lower back and helped the muscles "release" and the arthritic-like pain in my hips and lower back eased up greatly.

Unfortunately, the pt would cost money, but if you can go to a place with a sliding fee scale, that would help.

Anyway, I hope you can get it figured out.

If you are in Tarrant County, call John Peter Smith Hospital and see you if qualify for their low income JPS Connection program. You will have to submit paperwork to prove your income or lack of and proof that you are a resident. Once you qualify, you will receive some of the best medical advice and doctors I've met. I had a bladder lift in 2007 on the JPS Connection plan. I was very impressed with the doctors, the facility, and the care. I've had alot of "women's issues" and surgeries, and at that time I had no job and no other income. I felt very safe and secure with the care I received there. I would recommend it to anyone needing this. Good luck! B. P.

What you need is a cystopexy. If you are a dallas county resident you can go to Parkland for discounted health care. I trained there and it is an excellent hospital. They will analyze you income and put you on a sliding scale - but you will always be covered by the Parkland "insurance" If you are not a dallas county resident, I am not sure of the options. I think there is John Peter Smith in Tarrant county, but I dont know anything about that system.

Let me know if you need further help!

my mother had her bladder basically fall out of her... (it came out her vagina) she had an operation where the Dr put in a sling (for lack of a better description) it keeps her bladder in place, I think it was all handled by her Gyno. she is not local so I can't recommend her Dr. as far as no insurance I have heard of JPS being recommended but I have not used them before. apparently a falling bladder is not to uncommon. better to get it checked out than let it go unchecked.
