Hello, so we came back from a vacation a week ago and all of a sudden I started getting bitten. I don't know what they are. Here are some details.
The bites look more like tiny blisters with a clear middle.. No clustering that I can tell No blood. (so I am ruling out bedbugs) The nighttime is terrible. I start itching and just can't stop. Last night I thought I could feel the bites/blisters come in. And I think they actually did.
My husband and out two daughters (4 and 1) are bite free.
Do you think it could be allergies. SHould I go to a dermatologist? Is there a good one you can recommend in NYC or Brooklyn?
Thank you.
S.
It turns out that I have folliculitis with a side order of hives. Awesome. The good thing it is not contagious. Thank you, everyone, who took time to answer me in my time of very itchy need.

They're both in the same office and got very positive reviews on the internet. I saw Dr. Granite recently and loved her.
Sounds like you need to see someone unless it seems like it's going away.
Dear S.:
This does not sound like bug bites. More like an allergic reaction to shell fish or some other type of food. This does sound like eczema. When it affects the fingers, the thick skin allows them to be large enough to see. The itching is a histamine reaction which make this more of an allergy than anything else.
Gets some baking soda and make a watery solution and cover these blister a few times a day. This will alkalize the skin and increase the healing. If they don't stop coming out in a few day or get worse respond back.

Hmmmm, I've had this problem too.....do you have any animals? My beagle sleeps with us, and I'm the one that gets bit.....by fleas!! So, I gave him a bath, and I washed EVERYTHING on the bed......sprayed the mattress and all areas down with disinfectant...... no more fleas, no more bites............
If you don't have animals, is there someones you might have played with and brought some home? They don't usually jump to humans, but they can.......
If not, I would get checked out for sure and wash all the bed stuff.....start with your regular doctor.
Good Luck....and take care....
I would check if they are Bed Bugs. Its a big problem right NOW in the US. Especially with traveling even 4 Stars hotels are getting them.
Hard to know for sure without more details (where are the bites/blisters, what were you doing on vacation), but I wonder if it could be poison ivy or some other poison? Were you outside hiking or doing some other activity where you were in contact with plants? The blisters are classic for poison ivy. You don't realize initially that you have been exposed (it's the oil from the plants that most people are allergic to) and you spread it very easily to other areas of your body unless you bathe right away. Blisters may continue to appear even after the initial break out.
You can try calamine lotion to soothe them. Hydrocortisone cream can help, just don't apply it to open blisters. Benadryl taken at night may help control the itching. These things can help bug bites and/or poison ivy. A true diagnosis would have to come from a physician who can actually look at it and ask you the appropriate questions as to when/where/what.
