Chuck E. Cheese is a big hit with the 5 year old scene! Both of my kids loved it when they were little. Good luck and enjoy! B. P.
Starting to plan my son's 5th birthday party but drawing a blank where to look to have it. Don't want a home party and since there will be quite a few kids I need somewhere without 12 child maximum limit that isn't too expensive. Any ideas?
Thanks for all the great suggestions! I booked at Aquakids and he is THRILLED to be having a swimming party (since his BD isn't in summer)! I'm excited too since entertainment is easy this year! I can say Leapin' Lizards was great for a party, we did that one last year which is why I wanted something non-bounce house this year. And thanks for the response about the zoo party! I will definitely keep that one in mind for next year (since I had already booked when I got your response), but that sounds so cool and who doesn't like the zoo!! Thanks for everyone's help and hopefully I helped someone else too!

3 yrs ago I had my oldest 5yr party at the Ft. Worth Zoo. I was $200 and you can have as many kids as you want. They give you a pretty goodsize room and they bring in 5 different animals and give the kids a lesson on them and let them ask questions and let them touch them. You supply the cake and everything. They give you goody bags for the kids and tickets to into the zoo.
I invited her entire class of 30 thinking not many people will want to drive to the zoo and I was shocked. Everyone showed up. Its now getting time to start scheduling my youngest 5 bday and I"m thinking the zoo is going to be the place again. I'm sure of the prices have changed but I'm thinking it couldn't have gone up too much.
leapinlizards.net My cousin had her 3 yr. olds party there and it was pretty cool. They had a lot of fun. Not sure cost or max but we had at least 20-25 kids there.
my son went to a party on sat at boomerangs and it was fun. he was two so my friends daughter had to help him down the slides but for a five yr old it would be great. it was fun.

At that age a lot of people have parties at skate town. I think there were 10 kids included in the package (birthday child was free) and you can do cake only or cake & ice cream. My son had his 7th birthday there, but other kids started younger.
How about a party at a local park. In haltom City there is a park off Browday by the Rec. There is plugs for electricty and things. I held my daughters 16 Birthday party there. She Loved it. You can also rent the community room there. It is $50 depoist and I think $30 a hour. The rooms are nice and big. I did my sons first birthday there.
You can take a Pinanta and things to paly with.
If you are looking for suggestions for a borthday or need gift ideals how about a book party? I am a consultant with Usborne Books and I can set you up a party and the guests can all orders books for the child. Once all the sales are in if we reach a certain amount you would be able to earn free books which you could give him as a gift either for his Birthday or Christmas.
Also on my website if you are intereted is a drawing where you can win $50 in free books I would be happy to send you the website where you could register him you would like.
If your son has tons of friends like mine I am alwyas buying him books and right now you can join Usbornne Books for only $15 this gives you a $147. in free gifts. You could save up to 20% off tings you buy. You could either use it for personal use or start your own business.
Please let me know if you would like to know more about any of this. Thanks, and I wish you a Blessed day. G.
Pump It Up parties go up to 26 kids. 5 is a great age to be there. They can do all the inflatables by themselves, your party is private so you dont worry about big kids jumping on them and the staff is in charge of everything letting you enjoy the party. I have seen the best staff at Grapevine or N Fort Worth store, Coppell and Frisco are usually good too.
I don't know if you are doing it before school starts, but if so I highly recommend using a community pool. I have had my (now 6 y/o) son's parties there for several years. It is tons of fun, cheap and you can bring your own food (or order pizza to be delivered there like I do). I wrote about my most recent experience here: http://www.burbmom.net/roanoke-community-pool/
If you are brave enough to do it at home, Shannah wrote a really good article about fun ideas: http://www.burbmom.net/preschool-birthday-party-on-the-ch...
I just try not to get caught up in what everyone else is doing and just plan something my kids would like to do! Good luck!
