Birthday Party Suggestions for a 3 Year Old

I have been looking for a while for a location to have my daughter's 3rd birthday party in January. Preferably on the Eastside but Seattle side works too. We are looking for an indoor venue, somewhere were they will set up and clean up for us and possible provide everything but the cake. Usually I host my daughter's parties at our home but I am pregnant and the baby is due right around her birthday so I just want it all taken care of this year just in case I have to miss the cake and head to the hospital! :)

My daughter loves horses, open play, art and music. Since we just moved here earlier this year we only have 5 children to invite (3 girls and 2 boys) . We want the price not to exceed around $250.00-$275.00 including almost everything we need. I am finding a lot of cool ideas for kids over 4 years old but not much in the 2.5-3.5 year old children range.

I did find something at Farrel-McWhirter Park with horses outside and a birthday room inside but the kids only get to ride for 5 minutes each. If you have any feedback about this party please let me know.

We are not entirely against having it here at home but it would be great just to show up somewhere this year to make it easy on everyone. Any birthday ideas please send them this way,
Thanks, K.

Have you looked into Kelsey Creek Farm in Bellevue? I think it's easily in your price range and includes a tour. Chuck E Cheese on 148th in Bellevue (next to Fred Meyers) or the play place at McDonalds are the only things with indoor play areas I can think of for your age group. All of the art venues I know of (pottery painting, stained glass, etc) are for older kids.

A great place for both boys and girls, is "The Bouncy Place" in Kent. My nephew's birthday party was there. They have different rooms for different age groups! My son is two and he had a blast! They have little rooms for the cake and gifts as well! :)

Jump Planet in Bothell is great for 3 year olds. I like it a lot better than Pump It Up. I think it is cleaner. I have been to several parties there and they do it all. It's great.
The Imagine Children's Museum in Everett is fabulous for that age. They also put on a nice party. We have been to several there and had one ourselves.
Gymboree play and music is wonderful for the 2-4 year old set. I am not sure of all the locations, but I have been to parties at the Lynnwood and the Redmond Town Center locations. They were great! You can pick a theme and the activities will revolve around that theme.
The Little Gym also does parties. We have been to 2 parties there. They are pretty good, too. I think the closest to you would be Kenmore if you are on the eastside. Although, Gymboree has more music than the Little Gym if she is into that.
All of these places will do all of the set up and clean up for you. Some of them cost more to do it and with others it is built into the price. Good luck and happy birthday!

"Pump It Up" in Kirkland or "Jump Planet" in Bothell are great places for kids around that age. You get X amount of jump time (I think it's an hour?) and then X amount of time in their party room. They can order pizza for you, and may have treats avail as well, or you can bring your own.

Also, you could check out your local community center. They are all a little different. Some just provide the room, some offer activities, etc.

If your child likes sports, you can try Arena Sports too. They have bouncy stuff and/or they do soccer related games, and they also have a party room for eating, etc.

Good luck! :o)

First, I have been to F-M park for a party - not worth it, in my opinion, especially in winter...the horse ride was super short, and the farm animals were pretty minimal...not a bad park to visit, but not ideal for a party...we are having my son's party at Gymnastics East (he is in gym there, and we love the program)...it is 120 for 8 kids...nothing to set up, just bring a cake and plates...they do the rest...otherwise, I would recommend any kids gym (my gym, gymboree, little gym), or even a music place (like kindermusik)
