I never did this - but my kids loved it when they went to a laser tag place.
I didn't read any of the other responses this time - just wanted you to know what my kids loved.

My daughter is turning 13 and wants to have a big party! I need to find a place (reasonably priced) that is geared to this age group. Or a facility to have it where they can hang out play games/music what ever. I'd like to be able to bring my own food. Any suggestions?? I would have it at home but I don't think my house is big enough. Thanks for any help.

There are a few bounce places in Plano that are popular - I go to Jump Town at 15th and Independence. They have a teen night, so that age group likes it of course, and they do parties on the weekends (www.thejumptown.com). I also found out about a place called Nickelrama in Garland - it's a nickel arcade. I've never been there, but they also do parties.
If you need transportation help for Richardson residents, let me know - I own Kid Express Child Shuttle and might be able to help if some of your guests can't make it because of transportation issues. You can contact Kid Shuttle ASAP for "transportationally challenged" Plano residents :)
We just finished our 2nd big birthday bash with dj and the works. The kids love to dance (at least our group did).
We are members at Gleneagles and we have all of our parties there and they do the food as well which is nice. I'm not sure about non-member parties but I am sure if they do it is more expensive. Ours was no where close to cheap or "reasonable" by the time we paid for dj, security, food and extras.
Maybe a hotel or restaurant would have a banquet room for rental?
Good luck and have fun!!
Maybe you could rent a couple of hotel rooms, one for the boys and one for the girls. They could play different games, maybe even rent one of the conference rooms in the hotel for a large room to play. You could have pizza brought in, and I am sure there are a bunch of games you could come up with. Another neat thing would be to rent a limo and go on a ride. I rented a limo bus for our HOA and it was great! We were able to fit about 20 people in the bus, and the kids would love cruising around town in a bus.

My daughter turned 11 on her last birthday and just wanted to be with her friends. We took 6 girls to the mall and had a scanvenger hunt. They really enjoyed it! We took everyone to eat at Dave & Busters & played downstairs in their arcade. After that, we came back to the house for cake, ice cream & presents. We finished the night with a sleep over and movies! We have a small home, but no one seemed to mind being a little squished. It was a FUN & memorable party!
You could also check out your local (or any city's) community center, I like the bowling alley idea. 300 Dallas in Addison has a separate room in the back with a few private lanes and perfect for parties! The location also has an arcade and pool tables.
InterSkate! Remember roller skating? There are still actually places that do this. It's in Lewisville, near the intersection of I-35 and Bus.121., behind the Northern Tool Store. I've been trying to convince my 9-year old neice to have a roller skating party for years, just so I can go!
Check your local recreation center! I've heard fantastic things about the new one in Plano and that teens have had great b-day parties in their local rec centers.
We too have a travel business...online...and LOVE it!!
try the bowling alley.
My daughter had a scavenger hunt at the mall (shops of Willow Bend, Plano) and we bought Pizzas from Sbaros and brought our own drinks and cake. They had a list of items to take a picture of - they were told to bring their own digital camera or picture phone. They split into 3 groups and went searching. They had a blast! You can assign a parent to each group or let them go on their own. It was a lot of fun. I think I still have the list on my computer if you would like for me to send it to you for ideas of what they looked for.
You can rent rooms at recreation centers in Richardson and Allen. Allen has one at the Bethany lakes area that is pretty nice and you would be able to bring your own food. Roller skating rink in Plano also has a party room. If you belong to a church it never hurts to ask if you can rent the fellowship hall. Have fun!
