I am looking for birthday ideas for an active 5 year old boy who will be 6 in December. We have been to all the gymanstics, bounce house, etc birthday parties and want something different. I am considering doing a broomball party, having it at the Dallas Cowboy stadium (have to do during the week), or Great Wolf Lodge but really just looking for an original birthday party for at least 30 kiddos. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

M.,
I haven't been here yet, however, one of the neighbor kids said this is a fun place to go, Amazing Jake's, in Plano.

I know they have a place like this in San Antonio where my kids had lots of fun. Chuck E Cheese is for younger kids, according to my kids. The Dallas zoo also has packages for birthdays. They have this one for spending the night there, too expensive for 30 kids, but I thought about it for when family visit from out of state.
Good luck,

I don't recommend broom ball at all for that age group. Indeed, it's quite dangerous for any age group. My older son went to a broomball party was he was 8 and there was a fairly serious injury. Boys that age do not have good judgement. Ice skating might be a much better idea - maybe not original, but safe and fun for most of these kids or bowling is also fun. I think these days parents tend to forget that the entertainment from the old days might just be more appealing than all the fancy/snazzy stuff people try to do these days.

Not sure if this is original, but the Toys R Us in Frisco does birthday parties. They have several different themes and they do everything for you. 2 of my girls had it there and they loved it!
