Okay so i am pregnant and trim regularly down there, but i cant even see it now and was wondering if the cream for bikini areas are safe to use while pregnant? Does anyone else worry about being hairy down there while pregnant and offending the people who have to see it? I wax durring the summer but im afraid the pain might make me have contractions. I really cant see enough to shave. Or use siscors. Thanks in advance for your help.

What can I do next?

I don't think some external waxing would make you have contractions.
That's what I would go with.
It's far better than chemicals and besides, the point is that you can't see anyway, right?
Let a pro help you out or forego it all together until after the baby is born.

Best wishes.

i say 'why risk it'? i'd be inclined to think the waxing pain is not going to cause contractions. perhaps the waxer could do a small test? otherwise, let it go and take care of it after the baby is done. not likely you'll be sporting that bikini before then anyway, right? and trust me, the doctor doesn't care about your styling!

I'm sure all of the docs and nurses are pretty used to seeing crazy looking twinkies :)
Have hubby trim you up, that's what I did. He rather enjoyed it.

Really when the time comes, you'll be pooping so a little bit of hair shouldn't and wont be on your mind.
I personally wouldn't just in case. Chemicals down in that area bothers me greatly.

I'm 22wks pregnant with my 3rd and I'm just now starting to have trouble with seeing to trim/shave. I've never been one to wax or use creams. With my last pregnancy I just put a towel on the floor in front of the bathroom mirror & sink to see what I was doing in the mirror. My husband tried shaving for me once but he said he was too afraid to cut me with all my "girl folds". I plan to shave in front of the mirror again because even though it's no big deal to let it all go...I just don't like the feeling of hair down there. And if a Dr. or nurse makes any comments about it when it's time to bare all...who cares!! ;)

This is for all of you woman who think the doctors and nurses are NOT looking. They are! My sister is an R.N. and she has told me NUMEROUS stories that the other nurses share about what kind of "growth" and other yuckiness they have seen "down there" from overgrowth to pimples, to fragments of toilet paper! I also trim, wax and shave. I don't think the cremes are harmful for pregnancy but I used a creme before my last c-section and I ended up having the worst reaction...and I've used it before so my advice is to regularly do a test spot on an area in that "area." Just because you don't have a reaction today, doesn't mean you won't have one next month. Our pregnant bodies are changing constantly because of well, just because we are pregnant. I use a mirror in the shower...but I can totally relate because I am 27 weeks pregnant with my 4th and I can see NOTHING below my belly.

hmm. i kind of figured with a watermelon in the way, and considering obgyn's have seen a LOT worse than me...why bother. it's the one time in your life you can let yourself go a little and not one person will question it. the fewer chemicals on/in my body at that time, the better. so i guess my reaction is, why bother? there are a lot bigger things going on in your life to focus on.

I agree, theres nothing wrong with waxing, you may want to invest in a personal trimmer to keep a close trim, you only have to be able to feel your way around as there is a trim guard.

I'm here to tell you I had brazilian waxes right up until the 8th month. I'd have kept up with it except it freaked out the waxing lady and she wouldn't do it anymore. But there were no issues up until then.

I think you are smart to keep up with hair removal, because when you go into labor, you will be amazed at the number of people who will be getting a front-row view of the goods. ;) I have always been a private person, but when I went into labor, I seriously lost count of the number of nurses and doctors who paraded in and out of the room. Yep, keep up on your waxing!

This made me laugh, I prefer clean shaven every day and kept it up the whole time! I had to have a c-section with my second and when the nurse went to shave me she said "wow guess you've done that job for me, good work!" I agree that no matter how many they see or how gross the process of birth is, why would they want one more thing in the way? Lol..and yes my nurse friends do talk! You wouldn't eat onions or not brush your teeth before going to the dentist, right?! ;)
