I have 2 kids- 3 years old and 11 months. I would like to get a bike trailer / jogger, but would like to ask what brand other people recommend.

What can I do next?

I just got the in-step trailer/jogger last week, and I like it. It was fairly inexpensive. ($100 at Fred Meyer). Anyways, it is working great for me. I have a 3 year old and a almost 1 year old, and they both enjoy it too! Have fun!

We enjoy our Chariot double trailer and use it as a jogger as well. It is lighter than some of the others and is very easy to use. They are expensive though- we wound up buying ours on Craigslist. REI sells them, so you can also get them when they have their 20% off coupon event.

Best wishes,

We have a double seat Chariot as well and LOVE it. It was certainly more than I wanted to spend, but the safety features really sold me. The cheaper brands ($250 and under) are just not as stable and well made. The frames on the fancier models are really sturdy and if the trailer rolled or crashed into something, would hold up a lot better.

Where are you at? I may sell you mine. I am not using it anylonger, and I don't expect to. I"m in Utah. If you're in the Ogden, Layton area you could possibly come and look at it. It is pretty awesome. We didn't use it much for the last 5 years. Our first is 7, our second is 2 months. So for obvious reasons we won't be using it this summer in the least! Child has to sit up really well to use it, I'd suggest 12 months at the earliest. Your 3 yo would love it. I can't remember the brand, but we paid $500 for it. Made of airplane steel and is known to survive rollovers. We didn't do one but the guy that sold it to us at The Bike Shoppe did. His daughter loved it.

My husband and I purchased an In-Step Quick 'N Easy. I love it and so do my kids, and it gets a lot of use. Bought it for about $125.00

I have a really nice one for sale. It's a Dreamer Design and I had originally paid about 400 for it and I'm willing to sell it for 200. It's in excellent condition and I have only had it for 2 years. My little guys really loved riding in it. If you want to see pictures I'll email them over to you. My email address is ____@____.com.

Hi M.-
We have a Burley Bumbleride with the stroller wheel attachment. It can seat one in the center or two on each side (when both can sit up alone.) Using either setting, it has a five pt harnesses.

We LOVE it...works like a stroller or trailer and my two daughters enjoy being pushed side by side or being pulled along on a road ride.

happy hunting :)

we had a trek that we loved. we bought it used. and then we sold it on craigslist last year for more than 1/2 what we paid for it so it was well worth the money over the 4 years we owned it.
my only advice would be to spend the $$ for a nice one. those sold in target/wal-mart are going to make you miserable, if only because they weigh so much. That's the biggest difference between the low $$ and high $$. consider the weight limitations and how long you want to use it - we skipped the tandem trailer thing and went right to them riding bikes on their own but they need to be 5 or more to go more than 2-3 miles at one time, so we needed one that would hold up to a 30# and 40# kid (mine were 4 and 6 when we sold it). another thing to look for - the frame going outside of the wheels - if something ever did happen, it gives the kids a few extra inches of collapse, etc. before they get hit. lastly - be sure to get the kids helmets. it is possible (although unlikely) to flip a bike trailer, not to mention that at some point you will cross roads or be on a road. making them wear helmets in the trailer also reinforces the rule - "if it has wheels, there must be a helmet on your head." Of course - that means you need to have one too.....
good luck and have fun.

I did not read all the responses so sorry if this is a repeat. When I did the research 4 years ago the chariot stood out. It was the only one that had a true suspension so the ride is not as bumpy for the kiddos. It has several attachments so is versitle. Has great resale value. We love ours.
