My children go to the Blackman area schools. I have always heard they are the best so when I bought a house, I bought it in the Blackman school area. It is located on Fortress Rd off Highway 96 toward Franklin. There is alot of land in that area that you can buy and live there and build an office. You better hurry though, that area is really growing out there. You will be close to the new mall that they are building and really close to everything else in Murfreesboro... that is off the main exit in Murfreesboro. As far as renting. I have seen little houses out but I don't notice too much because i am not looking for that.
If you are a teacher, I think that you will want to work in the Blackman school area. I use to be a hairdresser before I got married and had a baby and I had a few clients that were teachers and they eiter worked at Blackman or wanted to go to work and was trying to get a job teaching at Blackman.
There is Blackman Elementary, Blackman Middle and Blackman High School. The neat thing about that is that they are all built right there together unlike most schools where you have to go to one part of town for one school and then be busses to the opposite part of town for the other school. This way, your kids are all right there together in one spot.
I see where a few have written about christian schools. My 3 boys went to Middle Tenn Christian. The turn over rate is really great because the pay isn't that much for the teachers. So none of my children had the same teachers. The oldest had a bad education because his english is terrible when he writes and he didn't make very well on his act tests. The middle one had a great education there. He makes A's on most everything he does now. My youngest got the "in the middle" education. So it verys. The youngest cried alot to leave because the teacher that he had in 3rd grade was really old and just irritable and she was mistreating and losing her patience alot. But if you want a good Christian atmosphere, they are nice there unless you cross anyone and they they all stick together like glue. If you teach there, you won't make much money but I think that your children can go there for free or super super cheap.
I saw where someon wrote you about the city schools. I have heard NOT to go to the city schools. So I will let you be the judge of that. I have a 21, 18, and 16 yr old and remarried and now I have a 1 yr old and we moved where we wanted her to go, so the Blackman schools are going to be my choice.
I hope you have a nice move and if I can help you or answer anymore questions, please feel free to write.
