Best Schools and Areas in Chattanooga, TN?

I recently moved to Kansas City from Arizona. My girls LOVED AZ, but my Dad passed away and we felt it was time to move on. I have my 8 year old enrolled at Mount Washington and she hates it. I am not impressed. I am interested in the Chattanooga TN area because my Dad and I had many conversations of moving there. I don't want to make the same mistake of moving somewhere and not being prepared for the neighborhood or school district. If anyone could provide with some insight as to the area and schools that would be best, please let me know. Thank you!

So What Happened?

Hi everyone! Thank you So much for your support and advice. So far we are considering moving to overland Park area possibly. The Kansas side of things does not require uniforms in school which is of course a BIG plus for my girls. Thanx again and I will keep you all posted!!!

Have you considered just looking into other schools in the KC, Mo School District? My oldest goes to Askew and loves it. This may just be because it is the only school she has ever gone to. I would suggest looking on the school district's website and checking out the Report Cards of other schools near you. You may find one that has a better report and may meet your needs better. I shouldn't be to hard to transfer her if you find a better school. I understand that the school may not be perfect, but part of your daughter's issuesmay be the move. I wasn't much older than her when my family moved from Indiana to Iowa. I really resented my parents for it. It also took me a long time to talk to them about it.

Dear V.,

Have you thought of maybe just moving to an better school district here in Missouri. I live in Parkville and the schools up North are very good. We just moved from Florida and my daughter is 7 and she loves her new school. I am not sure about Mt Washington school, but maybe you should just try another area, before jumping to another state. You mention that you left AZ, to move on because your father pass away which I am very sorry to hear. What makes you think TN will be so different? Best of luck and may God guide you.

Hi V.,
I am originally from the Kansas City and moved to Arizona when I was 13 yrs old. I lived there for about 20 years before moving back to KC now with a family of 7 in tow. I love this area so much. I live just outside of Liberty. Kansas City address with Liberty schools. They are the BEST in Missouri. They are consistently winning awards in athletics and academics. Before you decide to up and move to another state, please consider moving to a new school district. Two of my children, ages 11 and 6, attend Shoal Creek elementary and they couldn't be happier there. My teenagers, ages 15 and 14 attend Liberty High School and South Valley Junior High. Both of which are excellent schools. You can check out the school district at www.liberty.k12.mo.us . There are also all different price ranges of homes in the area. And every neighborhood in the area is a good one.
I hope you reconsider your move to TN. If you need anything at all don't hesitate to get into touch with at ____@____.com

Hi V., My name is A.. I feel so bad for your daughter! My husband went to Mt. Washington years ago! We would never want our son to go there. We live in Independence and our son goes to Indep. public school (Ott). Ott's not perfect, but I don't think it's anything like Mt. Washington. I am a realtor in this area so I do know of some web sites that might be helpfull as far as statistics. But I do know from living here all my life that things aren't as bad a little further east. Here's these web sites, and good luck! I hope you find somewhere a little better suited for you and your family. A. Just type area guide in your search engine, it's supposed to be national. If you need anymore help don't hesitate to write.
