Cutie Patootie in Frisco...they pay 30% on the price they sell it for...it's not a great deal but I take it in credit and then they give me an additional 10%.
I have tons of toys and clothes (girl - newborn through 12 months +). Some outfits even have their tags on. Where can I get the most for the money? I've been to Kid to Kid, but I feel that they don't always give me what the clothes are 'worth'. I currently have items in a Wylie consignment store, but I think I only got $17 for a huge bin of clothes and toys. Am I expecting too much?
I've heard of Divine Consign, but I don't want to wait until fall since I have 3 bins full now.
Thanks!

I don't recommend kid to kid in Allen. I called and was told $1 for everything I brought (summer only & no onsies). I get there and the owner tells me there is 50 items and she will give me $40. For one...There were 65 items not 50. To make matters worse when I explain that I was confused because over the phone I was told $1...she said no one would have ever said that (yes, that is right...she just called me a liar). So I say "Ok, then just take out the things that are not a dollar.". To which she gives me(customer) an ultimatium (a big no-no in business)...she says it's all or nothing.
I figured I will have a yard sale and put out everything for a dollar. I made well over what she had quoted me for those items she wanted. Plus I was able to sale winter and onsies.
Have a garage sale and advertise it on Craigslist saying you have baby stuff. I got more for it that way than I did doing a consignment sale. I'll never do another consignment sale or consignment store. I made $1,000 at my last garage sale and didn't have anything priced over $50.
I know you don't want to wait until the fall but Sweet Repeats Consignment sale with the MOPS group at Trinity Presbyterian Church is a great place to sell your stuff. If you volunteer at the sale or with set up you KEEP 70% of your profit, if you don't volunteer your KEEP 60%. That's far more money then you'll get at any consignment shop. You can look at the sweet repeats website www.sweetrepeatsmckinney.org and find all of the info there. I have sold there 3 times now and am always really pleased!
I donate to the Women's Shelter and get a tax deduction.
I HATE the hassle of a garage sale when someone wants a $50 pair of hardly worn Abercrombie jeans for teens for $5 or less. The frustration of people wanting something for nothing and thinking that they are entitled drives me nuts.
Same goes for the places like Kid to Kid and Once Upon a Child. They pay you hadly anything then they get a decent profit.
Take the deduction, lose the headache and you are helping someone who actually appreciates it.
Just my two cents worth!
