and not about a computer game play station.
My son LOVED his play mat and happily rattled kicked and chewed with the toys as I would sit next to him and go through the mail or just watch him have fun.
Our little guy isn't much into being restrained and so we just babyproofed the down stairs area, put up baby gates and let him explore. We also bought the foam mats for the pergo flooring to protect him from falls, etc.
We have the Baby Einstein Activity Center which he enjoyed until just recently, but now that he is crawling he wants to explore.
At 7 months I would suggest an exersaucer. It was a great way to put my son someplace safe for about 10-15 minutes so I could get something done. As soon as your child can sit very securely and has strong head control you can try a jumparoo. Both my kids loved the jumparoo!
Both my kid's loved the exersaucer. I would put it in the bathroom door and take a shower with them in it.
