Hey, mommas!
My mom has been hounding me to get some portraits done. When you have done portraits with your children, where did you go? I've heard some good things about Target's Portrait Studio and the Picture People. Any input or advice? I'd love a place where it wasn't outrageous to own the digital rights to the pictures as I like to make picture books through Shutterfly and would like to include the portraits....But that is probably asking too much.
Thanks for your help.
K

I usually go to Target, they always have online coupons for $3.99 a sheet.I found out that Target and JCPenney use the same photograpy company.
Last time I was at Target you could by the digital CD of the pictures for $99. I don't know if it's changed. I think Picture People is too expensive. Good Luck and I hope this helps :)

i hate to give away my secret, but i have the number of a girl who takes my familes pictures. she doesn't have a studio, so we've had her come to the house or meet at a park, etc. i don't have her info handy, so if you want it, send me a message. she's in high school, but takes great pictures. being at the house makes the kids comfortable, but we actually meet at the park and things when the weather is nice for outdoor pictures - even took some in our back yard once. not sure where you live or how far she'd go, but she's in itasca. anyway, it depends what you are looking for. i just wanted someone to take the pictures because i could get their attention, remind them to smile, aim and get the picture. she will give you the cd of the pics

I've done Sears and been happy with the portraits. I got a CD and a lot of portraits for under $200.

I'm a photographer- so I say go with me... ;o) My husband and I got started doing photography for ourselves because we were sick of the same pictures every time. K & G photography is named after our kids (Kennedy and Griffin) If you want to capture some "moments" in your life and not just the same old, run of the mill pictures, let us know. We just went to Penneys in Stratford TODAY and had a GREAT experience! Our portraits are adorable, and were so reasonable (I had a coupon for $3.99 sheets). The photographer was excellent with my 2 little girls (I wish I knew her name, but she was there this morning). I have had other great portraits done there in the past too, and you can't beat the price. You can find coupons online. They do give you access to them online, but I don't think the quality is high enough to print them yourself (I was able to email mine and post them on Facebook though).
