Hi ladies,

I want to make those customized photo books for my children since I can't find the time to do scrapbooking. I think I keep putting this off because I can't decide on a site to use - there are so many! Which site do you find to be the easiest for creating these but yet also cost effective?

Thanks!

J.

I've made probably 10 Shutterfly photobooks and will never use another site. I think Shutterfly's styles and options are really great and ease of use is excellent. If you're a regular customer, they put out coupons all the time on photobooks -- sometimes 50% off even. Good luck!

I just completed two on Shutterfly last night. I have been very happy with the books, and they have added so many new things you can do with the books since my last book about six months ago. The best part about Shutterfly is they give out coupons and discounts, and others like Target give coupons to Shutterfly also. We have made seven books so far, and have only paid for shipping on the books. I also get our 4x6 prints from them and are very happy with the way they look. Good Luck.

Shutterfly.

LOOK online for discount codes before you start making something. The closer to Chritmas they REALLY start offering GREAT deals!

I also use Shutterfly. Easy uploading, you can have them lay a bunch out and then customize as much as you want. They have nice themes and it's all pretty easy.

Shutterfly is great as is snapfish. Both of them have some pretty fantastic deals going on right now-I think snapfish is offering a buy one, get two photobooks free for the next few days!

I use shutterfly because they do offer great coupons/discounts and it is easy to navigate although checkout can be tricky sometimes, IMO. Heritage Makers has a lot of great features, quotes and a plethora of styles and backgrounds for books. You can work through a consultant to help you because it is more challenging to navigate technically. They are also more expensive, but truly have some incredible finished products. Good luck!

I use both shutterfly and snapfish. I think they are all similar. Scrapbooking online is fun. Enjoy!

I REALLY like Shutterfly. I recently asked their customer service to do something they were under no obligation to do and the did it! Very kind, don't see that in a company a lot these days. I'm working on a book right now. Their groupsites are pretty cool too. I also like Snapfish but have to say I used to just go where the deal was. I've found Shutterfly to be the best and most flesible so that's what I've been using. Snapfish is a very close second. They offer deals quite often and people trade/give away codes on their Facebook page.

Funny! I just got this this morning :) They are $19.99 and I think when you sign up for an 8moms.com account (it's like Groupon), they give you an $8 credit so that's only $11.99...

Hi J.,

I've created an annual family photobook since my son was born as well as lots of other fun albums for family events, the kids, etc.

I've used MyPublisher and I love them. They are a little bit more expensive than Shutterfly, but if you sign up, they are always sending out great promos by email. The quality is outstanding.

I've also used Shutterfly, but I must say that I've found frustration with Shutterfly getting the colors right in the photos at times. One book I did seemed to print many of the photos too dark (and I do all of my own editing prior to uploading, so I know the pics looked good.) That said, I had a great coupon, so I tried them again for my an album of my sister's wedding photos. I must say, the coloring in that album was perfect... The other issue I've had with Shutterfly is the photo upload process. Since it's done online, sometimes I'll be in the middle of an upload and the internet will fail or the website will crash on me. With MyPublisher, you download free software to your computer and you can work "offline", so no issues of crashing. Once the book is created, you upload it to their site. The benefits of Shutterfly over MyPub that I can note are the creation options - more page options, etc. I haven't used MyPub in a while, so maybe they've improved their page options.

This year, because I purchased a great deal through Groupon, I'm trying a different company called Picaboo. I'm currently in the process of making my 2010 album (I got behind!) and I can say this - with Picaboo, like MyPublisher, I downloaded software to my desktop so that I can work offline. I love this feature. I have found the process slower than either Shutterfly or MyPub (it's going to take forever, but I'm using over 600 photos) however, the options for page creation are incredible! I hope the quality is good. I did a quick online review search before purchasing the Groupons and Picaboo had wonderful reviews.

Happy photo-booking! :)

Update: I just finished my Picaboo book and granted, it was 160 pages, but even with the Groupons, it was EXPENSIVE. I do hope I get blown away by the quality because based on price and ease-of-use with their software, I'd go elsewhere.
