I'm seeking advice on snow boots. My 16 month old LOVES being outside and will definitely need snow boots. He is not a huge fan of bulky shoes and I've been trying to find the best boots for him. Any suggestions???

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks so much for all the advice. We went with the Target boot and LOVE it. It's is soooo easy to put on and take off. They seem toasty and comfy, too. Thank you...the boots are perfect.

Land's end. High quality, 100% customer satisfaction. My son's winter /spring boots only lasted 4 months (he is rough on boots) they took them back and refunded my money...after wearing them all winter!

LL Bean boots are great too. They have lasted longer than any other boot besides crocs.

Crocs are incredible and I believe they have a new winter boot out now.

Believe it or not we just got a great pair from Target. My son has really wide feet so we looked everywhere for a nice light pair that had a wide opening. We searched expensive stores, cheaper stores, tried crocs ($50.) they were way too expensive and soo stiff. We were very lucky to find a warm, light, EASY to get on pair for him. They have a really wide opening to get their feet in and then they velcro closed and are nice and snug fitting. Also, since they were from Target they were only 13.00!!! Even better since I had to buy 2 pairs for my 16 month old twins. They have already worn them and did great. No tripping or walking like robots. They are fuzzy inside and their little feet stayed nice and warm. Good luck , I hope this helps.

Old Navy has good snow boots, or they did last year, that go on easily. My 2 year old is wearing the ones I got there last year, and this year I got my 3 year old a pair at Herb Philipson's. The biggest thing is to make sure they are not too stiff or you will have a hard time getting them on. Don't get any with the cute characters. Those are all very hard to get on. You want loose fitting, with a draw string or velcro strap (not the velcro flap) at the top.

Lands End!!!! They are the best!!! not only the best quality for your money, but they are 100% about customers being happy!! You never need a reciept to return, you always get full credit...example I bought those beach trekers for my kids(3pairs)and they stank to high heaven, when I was buyng their school shoes I made a comment that they shouldn't advertise that those beach shoes don't smell because they do...they asked me to return all 3 pairs for a full refund/credit....my kids had worn the shoes for 4 months! back on track...They even have a lost mitten club(where you only buy the mitten you lost at half the price). You can find them online or at Sears. We have 5 boys and LOVE Lands End!!! The stuff lasts and still looks new after several kids have used it and if it doesn't last or work for some odd reason I take it back and get a better one(very rarely happens).

I agree with Lands End!!! I have three kids and their winter gear is the best. I cannot say it enough (kids' jeans and bathing suits too, for that matter)--great quality stuff without breaking the bank.

I always go to their Overstocks section first. I usually can find the same boots in last year's colors for half the price. They may not coordinate with my kids' jackets, but who cares?!?!?!

I think someone mentioned that they are running free shipping specials a lot this month (right now, I think). If you are unsure of the size, get them in 2 sizes and bring the one that doesn't fit back to Sears for free! :)

We used to live in Upstate NY where it snows like crazy and winters last FOREVER. In search for my daughter's 1st pair of winter boots, I found that the Rugged Bear (ruggedbear.com) has a great selection of boots that are light weight and easy to put on - I got them on clearance for less than half the price but knowing what I know now, I'd be willing to pay full price. I also bought a back up pair at Target - Circo brand - and my daughter loved them. The Target boots are also light weight, easy to get on and my daughter's feet stay warm.

I have always bought inexpensive, warm boots at Target for my son. He usually wears them out by the end of the season (he likes to wear them ALL THE TIME) but they are inexpensive and have velcro closure.

You may want to try Target, they have snow boots, but go quickly they sell out fast.

Warm and inexpensive. Don't break the bank, but do layer with toasty socks. My sons also would not wear bulky shoes. As a matter of fact, my son went out in his sneakers the first year. When he got totally soaked I told him he had to come in. When he saw he was missing all of the fun, he put on boots right away.
Good luck.

same thing here. i personally love landsend and get everything for my kids for winter. problem with boots are that they're not the easiest to walk with. that said my girls end up wearing them once or twice a year (only if it has snowed a lot). otherwise no. i have brand new pairs from lands end for them this year (hoping this will be the year they will be into them), and I will still need to get something else too.
:(
good luck
