It gets great reviews and is geared toward kids your children's age. We just bought it for my daughter. :-)
Hi ladies! I know its early, but already thinking about getting small x mas gifts now, so hopefully it won't be a race in December. So, I have a son & step daughter both almost 9. I am wanting to get them new bibles. So at that age I am wanting something not tons of pictues, more of regular bible, but geared to their age, any opinions? Also, they both like to read, so any good books you're kids enjoyed and loved? Thanks

We have gotten wonderful Bibles for our girls and us (from infancy on up) from Concordia Publishing House (cph.org). Right now they are actually have their fall Bible sale. If you go to their website it is the second of the scrolling g banners on the top- I think. And I am with you, it do much easier to do a spread out the Christmas shopping. Good luck!
The NIV Adventure Bible is good for kids from 8-12. Some of our kids had it and it has nice maps and helps. Here are some links to sites and it also has the book 'What the Bible is all About' and it's good too for the kids up things

Our boys liked the Sugar Creek Gang books.

Even now our grandson likes the books, and so did our older grandchildren and they had the audio versions. Our girls liked the books by Hilda Stahl.

I got my kids the NIV Adventure Bibles - one with a pink and green cover for girls and the other blue for boys - they are now 9 & 11 and love them!
My daughter loves to read and is reading "Mandy" right now and loves it, she also has loved Emily Windsnap books, The Babysitter's Club series, Beverly Cleary books, Judy Blume books, The American Girl series, Charlotte's Web, and my 11 year old son likes Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Big Nate books - anything to get him to read!
