Has anyone ever had Bells Palsy twice? I've been having severe head, jaw, teeth and neck pain. Just wondering if it could be Bells Palsy. Anyone have it more than once?

What can I do next?

yes, you can have it multiple times. Sucks.

Time to see the dr to rule out other possible issues....Good Luck!

I had it when I was 14 on my left side and then again at 22 on my right side.

Yes, it is possible to have Bell's palsy more than once. However, what you are describing does not sound like Bell's palsy. Bell's palsy is a weakness of one side of the face - forehead, eyelid, and lower face weakness. It is not typically painful as sensation to the face is supplied by a different nerve, the trigeminal nerve. I would recommend you see a doctor if this is a persistent problem just to make sure it's nothing else. Hope this helps.

I had a co worker I worked with for about 5 years, he had it twice while I worked with him. It is not unusual to get it more than one time.

Hi J..
It is possible to get it more than once because it is caused by a previously dormant virus that wakes up. If you think that is what's going on, the sooner you get on the meds the better. My doc will prescribe Valtrex, Prednisone, and something for pain if needed. That was actually one of his first questions when I had it. ("Are you managing the pain okay?") It can be really painful.
What you descrbie certainly could be BP or it could even be a sinus infection that is affecting your BP. When I get sick or stressed my week side gets a little droopy.
If you can get in to be seen today, even if it is urgent care, it would be a good idea. If you get on the meds early they can lessesn the severity and durration of your flare up.
Good luck and I am sorry you are having to deal with this.
Hang in there. :)

My mother has had it for a few years, and now hers never completely goes away. She takes meds such as prednisone and it will get better, then she catches a cold and it gets worse again.
I know someone else who got it as a reaction to a medication, and never had it again.

I haven't but I have a friend who insists it runs in his family.. he has had it several times as did is mom. In their case, it did cause temporary facial paralysis and while I am NO doctor IF you don't have that symptom as well, I do wonder IF in fact BP is what you have? I have known 4 people who have all had BP and they had the paralysis.. but maybe in some cases, you don't get it? I would definitely go to the doctors. Additionally, do you grind your teeth (esp at night) perhaps you have TMJ which can also cause some of your symptoms.. I would look into that as well..

I wish you the best.. keep us posted..
