Beginner Gymnastics near Prairie Village

My daughter is 4 1/2 and very active and exceptionally coordinated. (or maybe its just a mother's pride) It has been suggested that we get her into gymnastics, but I haven't the first clue as to where to take her to start out in a safe, positive environment where, if she likes it, could continue on with the sport. I've heard of some places out south, but I don't want to have to drive that far.
Is there a gymnastics gym close to PV that someone could recommend?
Thanks,
C.

What can I do next?

There is a J. that teaches gymnastics in Liberty? And I thought I was the only J. from Liberty!! I'm definately not a gymnastics coach though, since I'm barely coordinated enough to drive my car within my own neighborhood....

This may be a bit of a drive, as well. A friend of my neighbor, Carolyn, takes her 4.5 year old to Pinnacle off Shawnee Mission Parkway in Shawnee. Is the Little Gym at 103rd & Metcalf too far? I'm not even sure they do gymnastics.

Em will be great at gymnastics...and soccer!! She's going to have a great spring and summer!! Give her a hug from all of us and we'll see you guys soon!

Hi C.,

PV= Prairie Villiage, right?

My daughters were competitive gymnast. We went to KGDC, however, a few of the team coaches were very harsh to the point of us leaving. We then went to Pinnacle gymnastics; which is off Shawnee Mission Parkway. Morgan is the owner and was an Elite Gymnast for many years.. She is very nice. We only left because we moved on to Competitive Cheer.
I do think that there are a few out your direction. Diamond Gymnastics and Elite Gymnastics. I am not sure of their exact location, but those are a couple. If you are just putting her in the recreation program, you should be fine at either of those gyms. There are rumors, of course, of the team coaches at those gyms too.
One more thing, if you wanted a non-competitive gym were she is taught gymnastics and in a more fun atmosphere, I would suggest Debbie Howards Gym. It is in Olathe, but let me tell you how great Debbie is! She was on the Olympic Team year (?). She does NOT do competitions... but the kids that come out of there, are always all smiles!
I hope that helps!
Email me if you have any questions.

Take Care,
F. M.

I'm not sure if this is too far for you to drive, but I take my girls to Byrd's Dance and Gymnastics. They are WONDERFUL! They were going to a place in Olathe for six months and then switched to this one and in the first month, they've learned more than they ever did at the first one! They are happy and excited to go, they come out asking if they can show me what they learned. My 4 1/2 year old now knows how to do a cartwheel. They've only been there for two months. They're website is www.byrdsdanceandgym.com It's $60 a month and may take you about 15-20 min to get there, but COMPLETELY WORTH IT. They have fun, but they are structured. You can see that they take it seriously.
