My 3 year old son was potty trained in January and has done well. He would have a couple accidents a month when he didn't get to the potty in time and was always dry the entire night. In June, he started having a few accidents a week at various places and times. He has now wet the bed the last four nights in a row. He is going potty before bed and we have stopped his night-time sip of water. I just don't know what to do. Is this normal? Do we wait it out? Do we use pull-ups (we never did in the past)? Any ideas or suggestions are greaty appreciated!!

What can I do next?

I went/am going through this with my 3 year old daughter- she goes through spurts of wet nights then no accidents for a while. I did notice it started when we started to talk about her starting pre-school and talk of a new baby coming. Have there been any recent changes in your son's life? I haven't turned to diapers because I know she is capable of sleeping through the night without them. I recently purchased a waterproof pad that goes on top of her sheets so if she does wet the bed I don't have to change her entire bed in the middle of the night. I don't have any advice that will solve the problem, just letting you know that you are not alone! Hang in there!!!

My son was potty trained at his third birthday and would go back and forth being dry at night for weeks then wet the bed three times in one week then be dry for months then ..... till he turned six. I made the bed like this.. pad, fitted sheet, another pad, another fitted sheet, so we could just strip off the top layer and have a bed all made. I've heard NOT to stop a few sips of water at bed time , being thirsty is bad I have no idea why. I never limited his liquids cuz I always worried he didnt drink enough during the day. I only give water and milk and one serving of juice and he really just sips water all day. so if he was thirsty beore bed I let him have half a cup.

I heard to put down a waterproof mat on top of his sheets instead of reverting to pull ups. Then you don't have to wash the bed, and then gradually he'll learn to not wet the bed because of the feeling. Pull ups will take that away. But you never know. You have to do what will keep your sanity. Boys are a little harder at night time. You could always try a chiropractor. Sometimes they can help because of alignment. It's interesting.
