My bathroom tub looks horrible! I can not seem to find a product out there that cleans the floor and sides of the tub completely. I have bought a lot of different products and they work to a point, but nothing really completely removes the grim. Any suggestions????
I love Melaleuca's Tub and Tile. It works awesome and it doesn't contain any harmful chemicals...and doesn't emit any nasty fumes that can make it hard to breathe. Just a clean tub. I also use it on the toilet and sink as well. Send me an email is you have any questions about Melaleuca. My address is: ____@____.com
Good luck!

I use Bar Keeper's Friend/Bon Ami on my tub, sinks, and pots and pans. They're similar products. Both are non-abrasive and really seem to get the job done.

Hi E.,
You want something that will work. Have you tried a product called Tub N Tile?
I have had womaen call me tickled pink because they have had stains or whatnot in their tub for years and tried everything and they tried this and their tubs shine like new!
And guess what? It's natural! You can stay in the bathroom and clean at the same time without worrying about toxic fumes!
It's an incredible product. I have been using it for over 9 years now!
Blessings,
J.

I use Scrubbing Bubbles Mega Shower Foamer and it works AWESOME! you spray it on, leave it for 2-3 minutes then wipe it away, little to no scrubbing! I used it once and i have never used anything else on my shower. We get the drain clogged alot at our house so when someone showers, water is left sitting in the bottom and we get a scum ring very very fast. so this stuff takes it away even faster. I even used it on my toilet a couple times and again, it works great there also. Hope this helps!

Probably needs to be re-glazed/re-enameled vs scoured. Got the same situation at our house just haven't got around to it.

My favorite bathroom cleaner is Dow's Scrubbing Bubbles. Vinegar works on hard water too - or try a baking soda/water mixture (paste like) for grime. I use that on pots and pans with grease. I also just read a strange one -WD-40. The email I got said to use it on shower glass to keep them free from water stains, and on stainless sinks, grease remover, etc. It might be worth a try!

My Hubby is a mechanic so our tub gets pretty grimmy. I too use soft scrub with bleach. I use a sponge with the scrubber on one side to get the tought spots. Use very little water, just enought to wet the sponge or wash rag and do not wet the tub first. I think it works better to apply the soft scrub on a dry tub and add enought water with the sponge to spread it around.
Good Luck!

I'd try the Tub & Tile. I love it because it's safe to use around my 2 yr old daughter - no nasty chemicals or fumes & it takes soap scum off very easily. When my mom started using it in her tub, she was amazed that it was taking 29 yrs of hard water stains off! :) That didn't happen with just one cleaning, but she said that every time she uses it, she can see the stains getting lighter. She said my dad even commented that the tub & toilet looked great, and for a man to notice something like that means there is a VERY noticeable difference. ;)

there is a product called bar keepers friend. it is in a gold colored bottle, it is a powder.
we have rusty water, and a little of this powder will get rid of almost any rust stain, and shower scum as well.
we found it at walmart, and a big can of it is around 2-3$.

Hi E.~
In case you are looking for a tub cleaner that is not toxic and safe I really recommend Shaklee's Scour Off product. It is non-abrasive and smells honestly like bubble gum!
If you want more information on this product I would be more than happy to help you with that.
FYI-- this isn't "just" a tub cleaner but something you can use for stovetops etc. as well :0)
Take care~

Hi
Thought I would respond because I too had the same problem.
Is your tub a fiberglass kinda shining plastic looking??? I used Mr. Clean sponge. I would scrub in circle motion it was easier for the scum/dirt to come off.
If it is porclen (sp??) Ajax with bleach.
Hope this helps.

I know this sounds odd, but what I have found that works is Toilet bowl cleaner. I moved into a house that hadn't been lived in for over a year, and apparently the previous occupants were 4 legged with snouts or something...the tub and shower both were just black, grimy and disgusting. I had tried, just like you, multiple cleaning items. Finally I was down to just a bottle of Blue Duck toilet bowl cleaner so I gave it a shot. It was amazing the transformation...both areas looked brand spankin' new!
Good luck, hope this was helpful!

My brother moved into a different house this weekend, and the tub was so horrible that you could flake the scum off with your fingernail.I tried a bunch of different things and the only thing that I found worked was CLR. the calcium lime and rust remover. I am going to get some for my tub now too. Just a suggestion to try...Good Luck

I AGREE WITH THE MR. CLEAN MAGIC ERASERS!!! We are getting our house ready to put on the market and I am scrubbing from top to bottom. I have used water and cleaners on different areas but if some certain spots weren't clean enough I used the magic eraser and all it took was a couple swipes. Both bathroom/showers were sparkling clean with NO water spots, mildew or other after using it!! Much less work than using other products also.

Have you tried doing an initial cleaning with a pumis stone (if its really bad), then pretty much anything should work after you get the initial grime off.

the best thing i have found is tilex 4-1 bathroom cleaner... the one in the white bottle. It all depends on what is causing the build up... my stains were kind of orangish, and I tried clr and lime away, and gave up. The store ran out of my normal cleaner, so I tried tilex, and it got everything up on the first try. I wasn't expecting it to work, so I was very excited when it did.
