Basement Finishing

I was wondering what I might expect to pay to have a 900 sq ft basement finished. We hope to have $10,000-13,000 to spend on the project early next year and are not sure if that will reasonably cover it all or if it will be a two phase project. We live in the Chicago suburbs, should anyone have any recommendations on where to go. My cousin recommended going through ServiceMagic dot com as they bid out so you get a good price from local companies.

Any suggestions and price thoughts are very welcomed. TY!

I have used Servicemagic.com for other home projects and loved it. I recommend using that site to find your contractors.
I think that amount would definitely be enough to finish your basement. Good luck!

We used Justin Bales for a kitchen remodel. His work is impeccable and his price was competitive. His company is Just in Time in Aurora and I believe he goes through Service Magic.

I have a builder who works for a large co and does it on the side. He is reasonably priced and does excellent work. Email me and I can get you his info.

we looked into having our basement redone. We wouldtear the walls down and have someone redo. It depends on what you want to do. If there is a bathroom involved, it will cost more. Our basement would cost about $12,000 but that includes having the cement floor broken and new layer put down and a toilet put in. Just putting up walls, and maybe a room may cost about $5000-6000. That was our estimate.
