Hello! I am hoping someone out there can help me with some information on any party event spaces, banquet halls, etc. that I can rent for the night for my daughter's 2nd birthday/baptism party next January. I want to be able to bring in my own food and serve alcohol. I basically need a space and I can bring in my own decor, music, etc. It all depends on price but I prefer something around $500/night. I don't want to spend as if it were a wedding but we are expecting many guests from out of town for this party and would appreciate any help.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

When we were planning the rehearsal dinner for my son's wedding (summer before last) we could not find anyplace that would let you bring in your own food. Everywhere required you use a licensed caterer - sometimes only ones on their list. A few told us it was a state health law, another said it was for their insurance. You might check a rec center and see if they allow food & alcohol - we were looking for something fancier.

I would grab a free wedding booklet found at maybe a bridal store. They have tons of info for locations and ideas. I don't know what area you are looking for but the "ranch" style places allow you to bring your own things. There is one in Dallas and one in Allen close to Plano.
Good luck planning! ;)

I would call the hotels and look for a reception area or party room. That will simplify things if out of town guests are comin in.

You might look at Winfrey Point, which you rent through the Dallas Parks System. It is at White Rock Lake so the setting is nice, although the place itself it pretty plain jane. I've been to several parties there. The parks system may have some other venues too.

'The Hanging Gardens' in Duncanville, Tx has a lovely facilty, and it is very reasonable. Do not be put off by its drive-up appeal. Go inside and you will be really surprised! Got to www.thehangingardensonline.com, or call ###-###-#### for info. I think it will suit your needs, even if the drive may be a little out of the way for you. Good luck, and bless you!!!!
