I am currently in the armed forces and before i had my daughter 7 months ago i was a beast on sit ups I could do more than 50 under a minute. After I had my daughter and I was cleared to work out again. I realize a discomfert around my lower back/ tail bone. I thought it was nothing that it was just sore from not working out i continue working out but now it has gone to the point that i cant lay on my back without hurting when i do sit ups my lower back gets inflame. and it just feels like my back isnt curving when i lay down almost like i am not flat on the ground. Have someone experinced somethig similar.

What can I do next?

Your tailbone may be in a different "place" after the pregnancy and giving birth. I pushed mine into a 90 degree angle when I was in 7th grade by falling on it. The regular doctor told my parents that I would just have to take a pain reliever every day for the rest of my life, or have my tailbone removed surgically. Well, forget that! Instead, my dad took me to a chiropractor who pulled it back out where it was supposed to be and I sat on a split cushion for 6 months. I've never had a problem since.

You need an xray to see where it is positioned, D., first of all. Then go from there.

Good luck!

Hi! I had a similar feeling after my second baby. I couldn't sit on the floor in a pretzel position, to play with the kids... or do anything else. It was very uncomfortable and the tailbone hurt me. I never did any research on this, I assumed it came from the epidural. And after I had my third child it went away! Totally! I wish you good luck!

If you have access to a chiropractor, go get checked out. I've had random back issues over the years due to minor injuries, child birth, and sometimes no reason at all. I started seeing a chiropractor in the past year and under his care, have been able to very quickly bounce back from pain that before I went to a chiro, would have lingered for months. It's common for the joint where your spine meets the back of your pelvic girdle (the SI joint, I think) to get stretched or a little off kilter during pregnancy and birth. A chiro will be able to do a cheap x-ray (about $20), see if the joint in out of alignment and treat you accordingly.
