I pay 60 a day for 12hrs, I too work 3days a week for 12hr shift. That's $5hr which is way less than minimum wage. I think it's a lot but others I know pay more... What are you gonna charge if she gets off early lets say she gets flexed half a day... Do you still charge full day?? Mine does :y

for the hours you'll be working, that seems reasonable. I don't know what the going rate in your area is, but where we are most daycares charge by the day, not the hour, unless it's an hourly drop in place. When my daughter was a newborn, we paid 170/week for 5 days a week, dropped off at 730ish and picked up at 5ish. I could take up to two weeks off unpaid, which I usually did as a random day here or there arranged in advance, and I'd leave $34 off of her check.

I would at least charge minimum wage...cause it is your job! Sorry don't even know what minimum is nowadays!

I paid my home daycare $50/day for up to 10 hours. It didn't matter if I was picking up early, the price was set. This seems to be the average going rate. Home cooked meals were included when they transitioned to table food. When I looked into nannies, the going rate was about $10-15/hour.

Hi,

I live in San Diego. Our daycare charged $249.00 per week for 5 days per week and $110 per week for 3 days per week. Drop off times were as early as 6:30 a.m. and children had to be picked up no later than 6:00 p.m. Mon. through Thursday and no later than 5:30 p.m. on Friday. For every minute we were late, we were charged a pro rated amount.

This daycare provided 100% organic food - they fed them breakfast, snack, lunch and an afternoon snack, so that should be taken into account as well.

Now, with all that said, it was a daycare situation. You are working more as a nanny - one on one childcare is a bit more expensive as well as infant care. When our son was a baby, we co-shared a nanny with another couple. I'm racking my brain as to what we paid, but I want to say we each paid $60/week which was an incredibly great deal. This amount was paid regardless of days when we kept our son home due to illness or days off of work.

Our son is now 3 years old and attends pre-school. He does, however, goes to the school's aftercare which is $6.00 per hour billed on the quarter hour if you don't pre-pay. We pre-pay 250 hours of after care and I believe we pay $5.50 per hour.

Hope this all helps.
