The pay would really be determined by how much work it is. Is your baby a good napper? Is he going to be napping from 9-12, and 2-4? In my book, that'd be less pay, unless they did some work around the house while the baby was napping. There's always a lot to take into consideration. I live in a rural area, have 3 kids, and pay my babysitters $8/hr. If they drive themselves I give them $5 on top of that (depending on gas prices, not per hour). If they pick up the house I pay them extra too. They get called back if they play with my kids, teach them new things, etc (not just plopped in front of tv). If the sitter is there during the day and has to fix them lunch, snacks and play, I pay a little more. If the kids are in bed already and just need someone there, I pay a little less.
