My 8 month old has been throwing up a lot the past week or so. I'd say about 5 times here and there. Not spit up but throwing up everything that's in his stomach. I'm thinking it's what he's eating. I'm just not sure what to be feeding him, especially after him throwing up so much. Should I go back to just oatmeal for a while or should I continue feeding him veggies and fruits? I am sad that he keeps throwing up and want to do whatever I can to help him. I know it's not sickness because he is fine afterwards and he has no other signs of sickness. It has to be the food.

What can I do next?

Take away any new foods you started this week. Then only bring back 1 at a time and give them to him for about a week and see what happens, then stop that and start another one. If you think something he is eating is making him do this, you'll only figure it out by process of elimination.

Time to see the doctor. It could be a bad case of acid reflux. If the baby is not throwing up formula, then I would just forget the foods until you see the doctor.

First, I would try to figure out if a new food has his stomach upset. My 8 month old has had a few bouts of vomiting in the past few weeks as well. Whenever he does, I always feed him the BRAT diet. Bananas, Rice (cereal), Applesauce, and Toast. This is a great diet for anyone, young or old, who is having upset stomach from vomiting or diarrhea. If it continues or if your baby start to throw up more often then before, then I would at least call the pediatrician. Good luck!

Vomiting can be a sign of food allergies. Have you introduced a new food to your child recently. I would start from scratch and slowly introduce a new food every few days to ensure no negative reaction.

Begin with a bottle of Pedyalite and go from there back to the basics. It sounds like he hasn't digested something and nothing will settle until he's rid of whatever is bothering him. Hope he's feeling better soon.
