I have a 9 month old and she has had her bottom teeth since she was about 5 months. I noticed she has black spots on the insid eof the tooth? Is this normal? It just does not seem right.

What can I do next?

I think those maybe cavities. Take her to the denist. ASAP My daughter fell about year ago and I thought her teeth were okay from the fall but that was not the case she now has to get all four top teeth "capped". I feel really guilty. People look at children with capped teeth and they assume that the parents didn't take care of them properly. I am very dissappointed in myself.
So get her to the denist and hopeful nothing is wrong.
Good Luck,
Leti

Hi T. -
I have four children, and anytime we saw any type of dicoloring it wasnt good. I would recommend taking her to the dentist, if you have done so already. And make sure you are cleaning her teeth in the morning and night. you can find special toothpaste and toothbrushes at any store.
Good Luck - Take Care A. :)

Have you called your family dentist because that dosnt sound normal but a dentist might say different.

My friends baby had the exact same thing. The dentist told her it was ok and would go away on its own. He said the water in the Tyler area causes this sometimes, but after a while his went away and his teeth are perfectly fine.

I would definetetly take your baby to the dentist or ask your pedi. My baby had a little brown spot on his front tooth. When I took him to the dentist he said that it wasnt a cavity, but he called it a defect. He said it was probably because my baby got his teeth early. Just make sure you are not putting your baby to sleep with milk all night because that can weaken the teeth, and you might want to start getting your baby on flouride, but definitely talk with your doctor first. Good Luck because I know it can be a scary thing.

Try to brush her teeth with either a soft toothbrush or a wet washcloth everynight and morning and see if that doesn't make it go away. If not then call a child dentist and ask him/her if that is normal. I haven't ever seen it on any of my kids before so I don't know.
