I'm helping out with a baby shower in a couple months and I'm in charge of thinking of "non-cheesy" baby games to play. By that I mean no games where people are sitting around actually playing a game. If you have any suggestions please let me know! Thanks!!!

What can I do next?

It's not really a game, but you could have a table where everyone decorates a white onesie for the Mom-to-be. Get non-toxic, washable fabric paints with stencils and such. I just think that is so personal.

At one of my baby showers, the hostess had each guest write a little "welcome" to the baby and words of advice to me and my husband in a nice notebook (she used one for drawing with heavy stock paper). She took pics of each guest and then pasted them on the page they wrote on. It was simple, but one of my most precious gifts. I love reading that!!!

Let everyone fill out the return envelope for a thank you card and tell them you will pick one out for a prize.
Fill a small bowl with safety pins and rice. Have them (at their leisure) try to find as many as they can.
I always like the gift bingo game. People get really into it!
Get a small package of diapers and a sharpie. Have people put words of wisdom or encouragement on them so when the new mommy is changing her baby she will read them and remember her friends are always "behind" her.
If you need help with your shower I'd love to help! I'm the owner of Sheffield Premier Events!

There are several games:
1: clothespin game-every guest gets a clothespin, the host selects one or two words that can't be said. When someone hears one of those words they can take the clothespin of the person who said it.
2: the diaper game-basically you take different candy bars and melt them, place each one in a different diaper, pass the diaper around and have the guests try to figure out which candy bar is in the diaper.
3: the toilet paper game-this can be played with streamers also. the guests try to guess how much will go around the pregnant belly. the one closest wins.

i hope this helps. that is so funny that your name is Alecia H.
I have a cousin who is planning a baby shower next month and her name is the same even the last initial. i had to read the about me part to make sure it wasn't the same since her and I just brainstormed the same thing.

Have a roll of string, ribbon, crepe paper, whatever available for each guest to cut off how big around they think the expectant mom is. After each guest's present is opened, they get to come up, put their ribbon around the guest-of-honor's waist and see how close they really were.(This makes for cute pictures with the mother-to-be and each of her guests.) The one who is closest to her actual size wins.

Okay, not sure of what your age group or type of your crowd, but I had this done as one game for me and have done it at 3 showers that I have thrown. Get 4 or 5 diapers and a different type of candy bar for every diaper you have. # the diapers and on a card for YOUR eyes only write what candy bar goes in what diaper. Cut a few chunks of each candy bar into each seperate diaper and set out in the sun for a few minutes. After melted, close the diaper and squish and squash. Now, the game is, and have your camera's ready, to pass each diaper around and have the guest 'smell' them and decide what candy bar is in each diaper. Have them write it down and have a prize for the person that gets the most right. (Yes it is a little crude, but a good laugh for everyone.) I will try and think of some more that I have done. The other ones that come to mind were pretty corny, that is my favorite one. have fun!!

I played a fun one once where everyone had to write down EVERYTHING you can think of that the mom will need for her baby from your basic little things, to sleep, a daddy, college $ etc. You won't believe some of the great imaginative answers you'll get. Set the timer for however long you want. The one w/the most answers wins and she gets to read her list. You could play the old favorite where you get a baby pin or clothes pin at the door and no one can say the word "baby".

I was just given a baby shower and they had some interesting games:

Don't cross your legs: Basically all guests are given a clothes pin at the door and told if they see anyone cross their legs they can take their clothes pin(s). The person at the end of the shower with the most clothes pins gets a gift.

Guess the belly size: Get a roll of wrapping ribbon in blue or pink. Ask each guest to visually measure how big around they believe the belly is and snip off a length of ribbon this size. Each guest goes up with a hostess and wraps the ribbon around the belly's biggest point (belly button level). The hostess snips off the length that is the remainder. The shortest remainder wins.

Guess the candy poop (gross but better than tasting baby food): Get 5 disposable diapers, numbered 1-5. Have the guest number their paper 1-5. Melt different chocolate type candies in the crotch of each in the microwave. (i.e. butterfinger, crunch, andies mints, hershey's kisses, snickers, etc...) When the diapers are still warm to touch, pass around the room and have the guests guess the poop. The can smell, touch, and taste (ICK!). The person(s) with the most right answers to the brand of candy wins.

Present bingo: Guests are given bingo cards that they fill in with the gifts they believe the mother will receive. They can repeat items on their card, but they can only mark off one square per item opened. First one to bingo wins.

Have fun!!!

It might be cheesy but it's easy and it's not a game where people have to sit around and play! Get a baby bottle and fill it with something like skittles or M&M's. Have slips of paper and a pen and have each guest take a guess on how many are in the bottle, be sure they leave their name on it. After you have made sure everyone has had a guess, figure out who the winner is and they win the bottle of candy!

I'm co-hosting a shower in a couple of weeks and we are asking all of the guests to bring a baby picture of themselves so that we can play a who's who sort of game.
