It may be allergies causing the congestion, post nasal drip, and cough. Mold is very high right now, and dust is everywhere. He might need an antihistimine, decongestant. The pediatrician cna test him for allergies with a blod test! Good luck!
My 5 month old son has this very persistant cough. It it very hard and rough. He almost sounds like he is choking. But he is not sick, the house temp. is good, there is moisture like steam from the bathroom. He is very healthy. A whole 20 pounds. Please any suggestions would be helpful.

have you tried a humidifier when he is sleeping? or putting him in the bathroom and running a hot shower, the steam could help. but i would definetly see a doctor too.
take him to the dr.the whooping cough and croop are no good for kids.my boy had croop when he was an infant.does it almost sound like a bark?
If it sounds like a barking cough then he probably has the croup. take him to the doctor before it does get worse.
Call your pediatrician! Run a humidifier at night and elevate his crib so his head is a little higher--phone books work great under the top legs.
Hi, K.:
What does your ped say?
just want to know. Thanks. D.
It could be asthma. When my son was little the only symptom that he had of asthma was coughing. Definitely take him to his pediatrician.
Have you taken him to the doctor? If not I would do so as soon as you can especially if the cough has been there for a week or more
Dear K.,
He could have a food sensitivity. If you are nursing, try to detect what you ate within the past 24 to 48 hours. If you are introducing new foods to him, back off and check with the doctor so that it does not get worse.
Enjoy your motherhood,
E.
There a lot of things it could be. Take him to the doc if you haven't already.
If he is not sick...then why does he have a persistant cough??? He definitely needs to see your pediatrician. My daughter had a persistant cough...she would choke when coughing until she would throw up a clear mucus. Turned out that she had asthma....she never had any wheezing, just the coughing. You should get him in to see a doctor though to see what is happening with his lungs and chest. Good luck!
You can also put something under his mattress (like a pillow) to elevate him. Hopefully this will help a little in combination with a humidifier.
I would absolutely take him to the doctor. It is very scary when they are that tiny with a bad cough. I hoe he feels better soon.
