I used Fanny Sheppherd at tohaveandtoholddoulaservices.com. Cell ###-###-####. She was wonderful and flexible with her schedule.

A nanny agency and try your local mother's clubs for recommendations. As well, if you have friends who live in NYC, ask them. It is actually cheaper to fly a nurse out to CA from NYC if you're going to have them for more than say a week. Their hourly rate works out to about 1/2 that of other major cities.

I googled "baby nurse Beverly Hills" and got several web sites. One mentioned doula. You could also google "doula."

Or ask your doctor.

Perhaps doulas have an organization that would list names. I know midwives do.

I had both a doula and a postpartum doula. You can check them out on Yelp! for review information. You should check to see what licenses/certifications they have when you interview them. Also, make sure to get clear answers on what they will and will not do. A lot of postpartum doulas will only tell you how to care for your newborn but they won't actually do it (sounds weird but true). A baby/night nurse will be more apt to really taking on the kid. Let me know if you want the info on the person I used...she is awesome!
