If I had seen it before my son was too old, I would have bought it!! So instead I bought it for an expecting friend, and she LOVES it. Said it was by far the best baby gift she had gotten :)
Hi Mom's. So I expecting my 2nd in a few months. With my first son, I made my own baby food, which I plan to do with this baby as well. With my 1st, I steamed the food then used my food processor to puree it. It was a big pain in the rear and made a huge mess. So I was thinking about getting the baby bullet. Have any of you had any experience with it? Thanks!

We have a regular magic bullet and we rarely ever use it- we HAVE to put the cups in the dishwasher after every use otherwise they smell like the food that was just in it- the odor doesn't seem to come out with just soap and water. We have another Braun hand mixer thing (like someone else said) that someone gave us for our wedding and it works SOOOO much better! (see link on bottom)
I'm not sure how the baby bullet is different, or if they've "fixed" some of the problems with the regular bullet, but I didn't love the bullet as much as I was hoping I would. I've tried all kinds of foods- grown up and baby food and it did an okay job, but even when you only pulse it like the directions say, it still smells like the motor is burning up.
We have an older version of this Braun: http://www.braun.com/global/household/food-preparation/mu... and we use it for so many different things- 7 years and it's still going strong!
I Want it too! LOL! I also am going to be having baby #2 and made my own baby food with my first. It looks like you get a lot of stuff for the money... but it is not the "cheapest" baby food making kit out there... I really like the storage cups and I wonder if they are as good for freezing as they sound?
I used a large size blender and a steamer to make baby food for my daughter... and I made huge batches once a month and froze them in ice cube trays. THEN i transferred them into freezer bags to prevent freezer burn... worked great, but I would love to have a place where i can freeze and store the food in one container- which comes in this kit... and the little "short cups" sound so handy for quick baby food mixes... sigh! Of course, I wonder how I can convince my husband that it is worth the money when technically i DO have everything I "need" to make baby food already.... haha!
I am terrible tempted to get it- if you happen to get it I would love to hear what you think. Worth it or stick to the "old fashioned" method?
Oh- by the way- here is the website for it:

I used a standard Braun (or something) hand blender. I think the official name is "immersion blender." I steamed the stuff, stuck the blender in, and had baby food in less than a minute. Very, very easy, and very little mess.
I then stuck them in covered Tupperware ice cube trays and froze.
For some things I used slightly bigger square baby food containers, so I could take them with me.
The nice thing about the immersion blender is that it is a real kitchen appliance, so that you aren't just going to use it for baby food. And you can make as much as you want in a batch. I heard the baby bullets were a pain because they only make a tiny batch at a time. I used to make enough for weeks of eating.
I have a Bullet. My M. got it for me to make smoothies. I hate it. The blades barely cut anything and the drinking cups leak. It is a great idea, but I hate mine.
I used my food processor or a fork to mash and puree baby food, and I froze in ice cube trays so I had large batches. A big food processor is a pain, but I wish I had invested in a mini-prep food processor instead.
My two cents. Congrats and good luck.
PS - I should add, I don't have a "Baby Bullet" I just hav ethe regular one. I think my M. got it on QVC maybe. But I trust they are similar?
I don't have a Baby Bullet but I got a regular Bullet for Christmas last year and I love it. I love to make frozen coffee drinks and smoothies in mine.
It looked really expensive to me...I do baby food for daycare children (2 of them right now), and I bought a $25 one called a Bella Cuccinna rocket blender from Target. I ahve used it for months for the baby food and my family also uses it for malts and smoothies and chopping food. Works fantastic!
Good luck with whatever you decide! And Congrats !!!
It is very exPensive, but you get two. So I went splits with a friend. It works great and very easy, but I found that with things such as prunes, I had to do half the bag at a time, as the motor wasn't strong enough to get the ones at the top.
I got the Baby Bullet as a gift and it works well. It's a little hard to clean (food gets stuck), but it's very easy and quick and it comes with convenient storage containers for the fridge and freezer. I'm not sure I would have bought it on my own because you can do the same thing with a food processor, but it's working well for us and I'm able to make everything for my daughter.
I just used my food processor. Did big batches of multipule vegges and fruits and froze it in ice cube trays to last a couple weeks. Baby bulet seems like its not worth it if you already have a food processor :)
My husband wants to get this REAL bad! He looked at reviews online and said most ratings are very good.
If I have a second, I will get this ... I made my own food with the processor and it was just fine but the clean up was not my favorite with all the gadgets ... this seems like it would be easier ... so yes, I am interested in it. I agree with the gal that went in on it with a friend great idea!
