I teach school and there are lots of Daniels, Dylans, Drews, and Dakotas right now. I like the name Dixon or Dax. David is pretty common too.
Dylan, Dawson, Derek, David, Dallas, Devin, Damon, Dalton, Daniel, Dean, Declan, Dayton, Dominic, Drake, Dustin
Hope this helps!
Dawson is the name of our youngest son and we LOVE it--it is my great grandmother's maiden name.
When we were looking for names we looked at the map of England. The names of the Shires are AWESOME boy names. We ended up with Clark, Preston, Kent, Carson and Dawson. BTW, those names are also all significant in our family history---another GREAT place to look for names.
I think that names that are unique are great. We named our little one after where we were born. Denver, Dallas, Dillinger, Dalton, Dawson, Donovan, Daniel, Deacon. There are alot of wonderful names...maybe wait until she sees him...then it might just come to her. Are there any last or first names that are of value in her family? Maybe like a great great great great grandfather. Just some ideas or thoughts. Tell her Congrats on being pregnant and whatever she names him, just know it will be the perfect name for him. God Bless you and her.

I love Declan. My husband doesn't like it, so I'll never get to use it.
Darius
The boy's name Darius \d(a)-rius\ is pronounced da-RYE-us, DARE-ee-us. It is of medo persian and Greek origin, and its meaning is "he possesses; rich, kingly". Possibly a royal title, like Caesar. Historical: Darius the Mede (fifth century BC) assumed the kingship of Babylon after its conquest by Cyrus. He was a renowned king also known as Darius the Great.
What about Dylan, Dalton, Davis, Duke or Dawson? Of course there are more traditional names like David, Daniel or Drew.
There are a lot of Baby Name websites where you're able to choose the letter and the gender and they give you options. She might try that. :-)
Have fun with the new baby!

Lots of good names here already. I personally love the name Declan or Decklin. One name that I did not see here is Drace. My son had a friend by that name and I think it is great. Check out this website www.weddingvendors.com/baby-names/letter/d/boy/
There's something about the name David that I've always loved. the meaning of the name and the biblical stories about David just fascinate me. If I ever have a baby boy I'll name him John David,
Good luck to your SIL and congrats!!!
I have read through all of the suggestions and most of them make me cringe! I don't think anyone has suggested Dean yet.
It would be a good idea to google the meaning of names before picking one, because she does not want to pick one that means something sad or unpleasant.
Also remember that the child has to live with the name. Keep it simple and easy to spell. I have an unusual name and I have to spell it a hundred times before people get it. And no one can pronounce it when they see it written down. (That's why it is abbreviated and simplified here!)
Valerie,
Me and my husband wanted D names but that had to be easy for the boys to live with and spell. We have a Dalton Cole and a Dakota Carson. Also nothing rhymes so they won't get picked on. My husband is David Bryan.
How about Devon, Daniel (Danny), Dwane, Darnell, David...

Dillon
Derek
Darnell
Durk

Hello, V.. You have received a lot of great resoponses. I'll share what's on my personal baby names list. I love Davenport, Daingerfield, and Dallas. And a few I've heard: Debonair, Dabney, Denzel, Devereux, DeWitt, Doyle, Drury, Duncan, and Durant.
HTH!
I see Drew is in there several times, and I love it, but my daughter went to school with a guy names Dakus. I always thought that was a neat name. Good luck!
These are some names of people I have met through my life and liked:
Dax
Dexter
Dylan
Davis
Darren
Devin
Davis or Dylan are my favorite
My husbands whole family has D names. His name is Darren. We kept with the tradition with our boys...my youngest is Donovan and the oldest is Drew. (Not Andrew, just Drew). Love the D names, but they are hard. ANother one that I absolutely loved when I was pregnant with my son was Decklin. My husband was dead set on Donovan, so we went with that...but I still think Decklin is so cute. (YOu could spell it however)
My daughter in laws brothers are Dylan and Dakota, they are unusual.
Derek is my favorite.
Doug, Donal, Dawson, Daniel, Dustin, David, Dennis, Donovan, Dillon.
Dawson, Destin, Douglas, Daniel, Drew.
Devon, D'Artanion, Drake, Derreck, Please, Please, Please do not use Dameon.
Delaney, Dellano, Deacon, Dylan-these are some that we like. HTH
I love the name Deacon!

I've always loved the name Daniel. Also there's Derrick, can't think of any more!
My friend just had a baby and they named him dreygon.I had never heard that before so if she is looking for a unique name I thought I would throw this one out there
I have two boys and there names are Dominic and Damian.
Dixon, Dale, Dexter,Davis,Dodger,Deaton,--look at last names and cities. Good luck!
We just named our daughter Devin...but would have spelled it Devon had she ben a he!
You have recieved a lot of good suggestions so I won't duplicate. My advice is to think about how the name will sound when the child is an adult. There are alot of cute names but what will it sound like when he is 40 yrs old.
My Dad's middle name is a D but you might not like it...
Deverger.
It's got German roots, no clue to what it means, if anything.
Don
None of the variants. Nothing matches the strength.
