Baby #2? - Stamford,CT

So I think I may be pregnant with my second child. I just recently started feeling nauseous and have noticed that certain smells are making me queasy. If I am, it would only be two weeks. I am not sure if I am imaging all this because we were trying to have a baby, or if I am actually able to have symptoms this early. Is this possible?

What can I do next?

You are 'technically' never 2 weeks pregnant. When everything is said and done, you considered 4 weeks pregnant.

It is possible to feel nauseous that early on, and also breast tenderness. I felt the same way with my first two pregnancies.

I knew I was pregnant as well because we were trying.

Take a test BUT just know that it may come out negative because you are so early. Also, word of advice I took a test with the lines...and I thought I wasnt pregnant because the second line was so faint. The next day I looked at it and sure enough TWO lines. So, make sure you wait enough time, and look at the test under GOOD lighting. and if its negative, try again in a week.

Um... if you've had sex of course it's possible.

There's really only one way to find out! For what it's worth, I knew I was pregnant within a week because I was so tired that I was literally asleep on the couch by 8 each night and NOTHING tasted good- only citrus and water. My husband actually suggested taking a test before I missed a period because he noticed the change in my behavior too-

Fingers crossed!

Take a test (a dollar store test is reliable). I experienced nausea and vomiting at day 12 and 14 days post ovulation with 2 of my pregnancies and 6 weeks with my first pregnancy. It's possible. Best wishes! Nurse Midwife Mom of 3

I never noticed any symptoms that early with my second but when i was very early on with my first (during that two week wait) I felt just like I do when I get my period. We were trying for both babies and when you feel just like your period is about to come its so discouraging but lo and behold I got my precious little girl and now I am expecting my second in just a few weeks
Good Luck and hopefully a congrats are in order - Baby dust all over you =)

You wouldn't be feeling symptoms at 2 weeks. They typically kick in around 6.

Two weeks pregnant, or four? Two weeks pregnant would mean two weeks since your last period and the time when ovulation is likely taking place, so no, not possible. Two weeks after ovulation, four weeks after your last period, then yes, implantation of a fertilized egg could have happened and you may notice symptoms anytime after implantation (which is usually a few days to a week after fertilization). Once you have missed a period, go ahead and test. Good luck.

If it's been two weeks since you ovulated, you should be able to get an accurate pregnancy test result.

In terms of symptoms, YES you can be having them this early. It's also possible that you are imagining them -- but take a test and find out! When we were trying for my son, I had every symptom in the book every month and was not pregnant. The month I gave up and just was too mentally taxed to think about whether or not I was pregnant, I had no symptoms and WAS pregnant. Go figure.

Good luck! Let us know how the test comes out!

I believe you can use an otc test to determine you are pregnant 2 weeks after you ovulate (4 weeks pregnant -- whether you had your lmp 4 weeks ago or not), but with my second I actually knew when I was 3 weeks pregnant. I had round ligament pain, believe it or not! I'd never had that pain when getting up suddenly any other time then when I was pregnant. I waited a week to test, and sure enough! My point is, I think are bodies can detect pregnancy earlier once we've done it before, so yes, it is possible! You'll find that everything that you felt with the first one, you'll feel earlier the second time around.

2 weeks actually equals 4 weeks if you are near when you should start your period. Go to the dollar store and get a test. Can't hurt! Keep us updated! I always enjoy hearing if people are. :)
