Awwww He's That Sweet

I thought I'd gush on my boyfriend here instead of filling up facebook and embarassing him.
He was out of work for 2 weeks so has taken over getting Emmy ready for school and so on and is back to work as of yesterday but still has been packing her lunches and getting her ready, which she loves because he lets her wear pajama shirts to 1st grade and i dont=)

anywho I walked in the kitchen today to give him a kiss goodbye and he was cutting her sandwich into a butterfly=) I havent even done this since pre-K (2 years ago)! I have spoken about wanting to but when it comes down to it she's lucky if i cut the crust off. Actually i didnt start that until he told M. to after she gave bad reviews of my sandwich making skills to him. I figure she can tear the crust off if she needs to like i did when i was little....apparently they don;t agree.

Anyway i found the site of a grown man in work clothes cutting a sandwich into a butterfly insanely hot.

so anyone else have any stories about their awesome or annoying mates today?
and am i the only one who finds cutting the crust off to be too much work for little reward and it makes it look messy?

What can I do next?

he's so sweet!!! And what a cool bonding thing they have.

My kids are teens and make their own sandwiches so I got nothing like that, but I'll brag a bit about my honey. He had a scavenger hunt all set up with clues for M. when I got home yesterday (and shoveled the 8" of snow in the driveway before the kids got home. I got chocolate, then a scratch-off, red roses and the movie The Vow. Then he dried all the dishes and fixed the dishwasher :) And it was all "J. because".

I agree, I do not cut crust off my kids sandwhich, they can eat around it. I will from time to time use the sandwhich cutter to do a design.

Anytime all work together as a team it is awesome.

So sweet!
My daughter prefers my husband's sandwiches... when I asked her why, she said "because Daddy cuts them into triangles, and I like triangles better than rectangles."

Good for you to have someone doing those little things you used to do. Hint: if you freeze your bread, the cookie cutters cut easier.

My kids love it when I cut into shapes so I like to do it. I J. eat the outside and since I don't eat much it's my lunch/breakfast when i make them lunch.

EDIT: When I don't cut shapes, I still cut the crust. Why? Because I cut really close and leave a bit of crust, I found eating around it J. waste more bread since they leave a really thick bread around it.

well, lately it has been hard for hubby to spend time with us, because he was let go from his full time job, and has been working nights to make ends meet. we J. had back-to-back KILLER snowstorms a week ago, and while their time to play with it "together" was limited to saturday morning, he spent several days outside building a sledding ramp and track (kind of like a slolem track i guess?) complete with a tunnel to sled through, for our son. that kid would come home there for a couple days and more and more would be built. he had a BLAST. dad even sprayed it with food coloring. it looked awesome!

Awww! I make my kids eat their crusts though. I don't cut my kids sandwiches at all, but my husband will cut them into quarters for the boys. Sucker!

My husband always got on M. for cutting the crust off my son's sandwiches...he said "he can eat the crust or eat around it". I had two responses...1. When he eats around it, more of the sandwich gets wasted than if I J. cut the edge off so there is less waste and he eats more and 2. your mom and grandmom used to cut the crust of your sandwiches and still would if you asked.

Wouldn't you know it, he cuts the crust off for our daughter.

That's adorable! What a cute story. It's nice your boyfriend bonds with your daughter so well.

Last week my husband surprised M. after I said I wanted to go get my nails done. He said "Babe wait till Sunday when I'm off, and I'll watch the baby. Take the whole morning and get manicure, pedicure and do whatever you want". He never says things like this. Of course I never ended up doing it because I feel like I have a million other things to do that come before that. But it was very sweet and made M. love him even more those few minutes after he said it.

Okay, the cat sent away my last attempt to post. Kitty!

I'm a 'eat up to the crust' kind of mom. Now he J. eats the crust. (It's loaded with seeds anyway-- the bread is really good!)

Nothing specific to brag on about my husband, other than who he is. Attractive, supportive, friendly, good to have on our team. He thanks M. a lot for what I do as a SAHM (and he knows it's not sitting on my butt eating bon-bons!) He thanks M. for dinner, for getting laundry done, for taking out the trash, for the yardwork. Most grateful man I know. The other day he told M. he was proud of M. for pursuing what makes M. happy (changing careers when Kiddo starts First Grade next year) and J. an all-around great guy. Kiddo thinks he's a pretty great dad, too. We share bedtime duty and he actually feels terrible if he has to work late and can't give Kiddo a kiss goodnight. That happened last night; so Kiddo called him at work to say goodnight and later, Joe gave him a kiss while he was asleep. Too cute.

He once showed up at the wrong party (some new subdivision or something that wasn't well-marked) and actually made friends. Not something I could do!
