I am looking for an attorney to help with a child support case. My baby's father is being less than cooperative so I am out of options. I would appreciate any referrals or words of wisdom from those of you who have had to deal with this situation.

Thank You!

I have been there, done that. I have a daughter, but was in the same situation over 7 years ago. My attorney is now working for the state or else I would have referred her to you. However, I work as a social worker and I know ALOT of really good attorneys.

Here's a couple, and if there is anything more that I could help you with, don't hestitate to contact me.

Denise Frost-402/346-8856
Ann Troia-402/934-6330

If you want a male, Jeff Wagner 402/592-2800. All of them are superior!

Go to this website and ask if you HAVE to have an attorney. I don't think you do, but you will have to request the initial paperwork to get started. I have been through quite a bit with my ex, so if you have any questions, let me know. I also know the name of an attorney in Papillion, she is a friend of mine and could help you. C.

I am a casework for the state of NE. Have you contacted the child support office? If you are receiving Medicaid, you should talk to your worker and they can help you once the baby arrives. If you need any numbers let me know and i will try to get them for you. Oh and a little advice if you can get dad to sign papers at the hospital it will be alot easier for you in the long run.

let me know if I can help at all.

I am a single mother of twin girls, 2 and a half yrs. old. I used Mike Lustgarten as my atty. and he was great but VERY pricey. One thing to keep in mind though is, this is the next 18-19 yrs. you're talking about and any atty. can arrange a payment plan for you. I don't know what the father of your child's occupation is but what the atty. will do is base the amt. you'll receive each month on his income bracket. I also have heard of the state appointing atty's. either for free or next to nothing so that may also be an option you'd want to explore. It is a lengthy process and can be very stressful and financially depleting so it's good that you're on top of it now. Good luck and remember, everything WILL be just fine! It's amazing the kind of strength becoming a mother can give you, trust me, I know. You might call NE Health and Human services and ask about a state appointed attorney. I don't have the phone num. on hand but you can go to their website and click on dept. of services and then on child support enforcement. The link is: www.hhs.state.ne.us
