At Least a Week Without a Period, Negative Test, Weird Symptoms

Roughly a month ago, a condom broke, and I took a plan B. Shortly after, I started spotting and never fully got my period, but assumed it was because of the morning after pill. Now it's over a month later, and I still haven't gotten a period. My body has felt very exhausted, and am quicker to become short of breath even though I'm still equally, if not more fit, than I was a month ago. I have been abnormally hungry, and have even gotten some strange cravings. I have also been abnormally depressed, which is often caused by my period, but I have been having these symptoms for at least 5 days now without starting, when usually it happens one or two days before I start. It didn't occur to me that pregnancy was a possibility until this afternoon, so I know it's not me thinking that I'm pregnant... but I took a test this afternoon, and it came up negative. When should I test again? Should I go straight to a doctor if I have been feeling this abnormal?

*update* - I would like to add that after taking the plan b, I didn't feel anything at all. No pain or dizziness like friends had told me they experienced after taking it. This is partially why I'm thinking it didn't work.

What can I do next?

I have no experiance with the morning after pill. However, I do know from personal experience that sometimes it's to early for a pregency test to be able to tell you if your pregnant. If you truely know that these sysmptoms are not normal for you then I would go to a doctor to find out for certain. Good Luck!

The symptoms sound similar to those for all those conditions - pregnancy, pre-menstrual, Plan B. The shortness of breath concerns me a little. I would go get a blood test which is far more accurate than home pregnancy tests. You need to get an answer to get rid of this anxiety. If your doctor can't see you right away, try Planned Parenthood or other reputable women's clinic. Good luck.

I have taken Plan B a few times and it messed up my system for a few days, sometimes a week. It's basically making your body not able to become pregnant - so it really screws up your uterus. Not having a normal period after taking Plan B is pretty normal. The other symptoms though, that could happen too. The first time I took Plan B I was pretty sure it didn't work because I felt like I was going through the symptoms of pregnancy, but after a few days it subsided. If this continues then yes, go see a doctor. But testing for pregnancy can only be done 18 days after ovulation for your body to produce enough hormones to show up on a test.

Although Plan B may have messed up your period making it hard to tell when ovulation actually occurred. BUT - you can never have a false positive pregnancy test, only false negative, so if you are in fact pregnant, it may not be showing up on the test because your body isn't producing enough hormones for it to test positive. Don't go crazy taking tests every day. If you're this worried, go to the doctor or planned parenthood and they will give you a more accurate test.

Good luck!!
