Hello Mamas,
in
I was wondering if anyone knew of an Asian or Chinese cookbook that has easy and quick recipes. My husband loves Asian food, especially Chinese and likes to eat it atleast 3 or 4 times a week. We both work Full time at very stressfull jobs and the last thing I want to do when I get home is start cooking something from scratch that will take more than 30 min. Besides that, when he gets home he wants to eat NOW! Grabbing on the go from restaurants is getting to be pricey, plus I would really like to learn how to do some of the things on my own. So maybe some of you have some recommendations for me.

Thank You

Nina Simonds' book China Express is excellent and all quick recipes. She has a bunch of other books too.

Grabbing from restaurants is not only pricy, it's not very healthy for you. When you do it yourself, you control the sodium (use low sodium soy sauce) and the amt of meat and kinds of veggies.

Start with a stir fry and brown rice.

Take time on Sunday to chop your veggies and prepare 2 or three sauces. They will keep till you are ready for them later in the week. You can even do the rice early.

This is my favorite go to for help with stir frys. I do the sweet and sour one.
Don't try to do it all when you come home, it will take too long. Just have the meat thawed and marinate it while heating the pan. Cook the meat, throw in the veggies, when they are cooked, add the sauce. Do the rice, done.

Start here. Find a recipe book at the library, try, then buy.

Check out chef Ching-He Huang's show Easy Chinese on the Cooking Channel web site. Her yellow bean chicken with long beans is killer!

I use allrecipes.com for my go-to when it comes to cooking. I haven't opened a cookbook in a couple of years now. You can find any recipe you would like, add the ingredients to a shopping list, save your favorites in your virtual recipe box, and make entire menus. I love it.
