you also can put some dish soap and water in a weed sprayer and spray the outside of the house where they are and they will go away. Spray a few times a day and they will eventually leave the area. Your house gets a nice wash too

Wait...are we talking lady bugs or the long horned beetle that infests your trees and eventually kills them?? Either way, call an exterminator if you are vacuuming them every hour. It's beyond your control at this point.

We have had a lot of the Asian beetles this summer in MN, but are you sure they aren't Box Elder bugs, which also look like lady bugs and show up heavily this time of year? The Asian beetles can be very destructive to other plants, but the Box Elders are harmless, just annoying. I usually just try to ignore them and they go away after the first hard freeze, which is coming soon, especially up in your area. I would determine which kind of bug it is for sure and if it's the Asian Beetle I would consult an exterminator, but if it's the Box Elder I would just spray them with a diluted soapy solution like another poster recommended or I would ignore them and wait for them to go away.

I recently saw the show Infested and one family had lady bugs infesting their home one season a year. In turn they ended up with spiders because the spiders feed off the lady bugs. Well the spiders that infested their home was the brown recluse and one night the husband got bit in sleep. Ended up in terrible pain and in the ER. Please be careful because I'm sure spiders feed off the beetles too.
I believe the family had ended up calling an exterminator.

Best of luck to you and your family

Sorry Mamma3, you absolutely cannot get rid of them. You can use all the hemicals you want but it wount be safe for the kids. i they're inside then keep .vaxuuming. if they're outside, pick up a spray bottle of "bug spray" ..something simple you dontp need to go over the top wih harsh chemicals. What you nee to do is spray around the window sills even the door frame ...and doggy door if that applies. Try to refrain from using raid especially if you have kids. ...In fact, use Ortho® Home Defense; it's almost odorless and its what my Mother used and it worked like a charm. I really dont recommend using it in the home if you have children. Chemicals of ANY kind really are not good for them at all. Asian Beetles are an invasive species so there is no way of ridding them. They're coming off the crops now and finding places to settle for winter. Its a viscious cycle that will never stop :( . ..my best advice for safety and pests is to use that ortho on the outside and spray where you see them but be sure to find those crevices and spray those. We still have them but not NEAR as much as we did. They do look like ladybugs, much different feom box elders. They do bite but hardly ever so they're more of a nuisance than anything. My only concern is the chemicals with the kids; and please!!! for God's sake, avoid an exterminator at all costs if you can because
you're just introducing chemicals into the home....NOT GOOD FOR CHILDREN!! Jane K. is absolutely spot on though about what they are and their origin.
Sorry, I wished I could be more help! Good luck and take care :)
