My friends & family are great. My neighbor Riley does a lot of things for us. He painted our baby's nursery, he takes care of our lawn and he does any upkeeping of the house like cleaning out the gutters and stuff. so nice.
I have a list of things i need to get the baby that i don't want to put on my registry and that has 20 things on it, and my sister Brenna who lives with us told me she will buy the monitor i wanted, and the stroller I wanted. She's kinda like a father-figure to my daughter. I'm single, so I need help around the house. She will not get married until I'm married. She's my little sister, and I'm supposed to care for her, but it's vice versa. Also, My friend Violet said she would buy everything else on that list.
I have thing for the baby over my parents' house like a swing and bassinet and a pack and play. My parents decided for me to pick the things out and then they'd pay for them. I just love my friends and family. what have your friendss and family done for you?

What can I do next?

I was expecting this to be total sarcasm when i opened up.......so glad its not.

Yes i love my friends and family! We have friends that will fix things for us and do things for us for free. I dont like to ask for help but when i do they are more than useful. I guess it helps that my husband and i are too.

What a great post! Being jaded, I guess I read your title as being sarcastic!

I agree, friends, family, neighbors ARE the bomb!

:)

I've got a huge, very close family, I think this everyday! Don't know where I'd be without them.

wow...you're single & you have a handyman neighbor who's more than willing to help? Snatch him up before someone else does!

& moving on to your question: perfect timing, I was just applauding my Mom this a.m. My nephew is doing his final preBUDS testing 2moro, & my Sis is going nuts! The draw/pull of being "Mom" is just swamping her. It was also Homecoming this wkend for her younger DD...so she made it thru Homecoming & then hit the road before dawn this a.m. so she could see/hold/hug him one more time before his test. I am soooo danged proud of her for doing the 12hour roundtrip...just to support her son! & yes, she has to work 2moro....

& here's the best part: when our Mom found out what she was thinking of doing....my Mom called & asked what time was she being picked up? Mom dropped all of her plans/nonplans & hit the road with my Sis....what a great Mom! & what a great Sis! & that's what Family is....putting others before yourself. So danged proud of my family....

Yesterday, I injured my hand & it is splinted. Waiting for the xray report. This a.m. my DH brought me breakfast in bed....what a special treat! He also served breakfast in bed to our son who spent the past week doing nonstop school activities. How nice!

& in our circle of friends/family, this "pass it on" mentality prevails. On Friday, one of our friends picked up our flatbed trailer to use in the Homecoming Parade. Another friend came by with his stadium seats for us to borrow. My best friend dropped by & bought candy for my son's fundraising. Our neighbor brought over some produce, because he'd borrowed our other trailer. My DH spent the day repairing his BF's 4wheeler. I baked during naptime to help feed the Band during a competition on Saturday. & the list goes on.....we live in a perfect circle of friends & family! Thanks for the perfect tiiming on this question! :)

My friends kind of are my family and I don't know what I would do without them. How nice is it that you have people in your life that you know all you have to do is pick up the phone and they are there!

That is true wealth. It's not the ammount of money you have, the size of your house, the variety of toys at your disposal. It's knowing that you don't walk this road of life alone. There are people in this life that love you and hope for you and want for you all the good things life has to offer.

My sister-friend Malic is the walking living truth. She is honest and kind. She is loyal to a fault. I had to move away from her when we PCS'd but she is still my sister-friend. Two weeks ago she did the most awesome thing.

Some backstory: I grew up in a more southern part of the country. The midwest but the southern part. We had Nehi Peach soda. It was sold in stores and pop machines and gas stations. It was mine and my friends all time favorite. We would smuggle it to church camps and get the bunks in the top of the A-Frame cabins so we could sneak drinks of it during rest time every day. They don't sell it as much anymore and certainly not here in the NE part of the country. I didn't know Malic then, but I have told her the story.

My birthday was the 12th and was pretty uneventful, which is totally fine because I don't expect or need a big production. At the end of the day, as I was walking out the door to go to a meeting, I saw a UPS box on my doorstep. I thought it was from my mother-in-law or maybe my husband. I opened it and there were three 6-packs of Nehi Peach with a card from Malic saying, "I wish I was there to drink them with you." She actually gone online and bought them from the distributor and had them delivered to me.

Best birthday present ever!

You are really quite blessed and it is nice that you recognize this. Make sure you tell them of how much you appreciate what they have done for you. :)

We've also been very blessed with different friends and family in our lives through-out the years helping with various situtations. My MIL purchased the baby furniture for baby #1 (that we now use for baby #2) and recently bought us new living room furniture for our 10 year anniversary (I tried to stop her!).

I'm not used to such gifts and feel uncomfortable receiving them. I was also raised where we didn't write thank you cards. This is something that I feel is very important now and will teach my girls.

Good for you for posting a compliment to your family and friends. I really thought you had written it sarcastically and was pleasantly surprised. :)
