Apple Orthodontix or Other Orthodontist Feedback..

My 9 year old needs to have an orthodontic consultation soon and i've been lining up some places to call. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about Apple Orthodontix? I know there are different doctors and the various locations and experiences may vary - but I was just curious.

Other orthodontists i'm considering calling (we're in Coppell) are Dr. Stich, Johnson and Collins, and Alexander & Alexander. If you have any experience with these doctors as well, I'd love to hear about them.

Also - I know it depends on the child, but I have NO idea what braces may cost. The dentist said her mouth is in good shape so hopefully it will be a matter of straightening teeth and not reshaping her whole mouth ($$). What is a ballpark figure of what I can expect to pay.

Thanks a bunch!

What can I do next?

I don't know about the specific doctors, but I had braces about 7 years ago (as an adult) and it cost $3500 for fairly basic treatment. I did have to have a couple teeth pulled to correct an overbite. I think I had them on about 18 months or so, then wore a retainer for a couple years.

Hello,
My son had been seeing Dr. Charlton in Frisco. I did not like him at all. Anyway, he retired which is good... his replacement is AWESOME! Otherwise, we have no problems...

My daughter had her braces through Apple and they've done a great job, however if your 9 yr old has not lost all their teeth then do not have braces put on, because they will need them again later on in life. I've talked to a lot of parents that their children had braces on before they'd lost all their baby teeth and they ended up getting braces again around age 16. Either way after she has her braces she'll have to wear a retainer basically the rest of her life.

I had dental insurance that covered orthodontics so it only cost me about $2500, but the total was around $5k. The good thing is they let you pay it out monthly with no interest.
