The Vermontville Syrup Festival is this weekend. They have a carnival and that type of thing. It is a little bit of a drive from Lansing (30-45 min.), but we have had fun going for years.
Hi I was looking for something fun to do this Friday with my daughter and her friend, they are 16. Does anybody know of anything fun going on this weekend?
Thank you all so much for such a variety of wonderful ideas, especially on such short notice. I am going to share all the ideas with my daughter and her friend and let them pick. Whatever they pick I am sure it will be fun because they all sound good to me.

try to find a paint your own pottery place near you.
I'm not from your area and don't know what kind of money you are planning to spend. When our kids are bored and have friends over from cheap to pricey: we will take our photos and photoshop them or do digital scrapbooking, Meijers has a book that has hangers and scrap paper where the girls can make their own clothing designs, we have a cupcake bake off contest, or we invite a few more people and get a room at the hotel so they can use the pool. If you're curious on the digital scrapbooking, I have a blog called Ditters Free Doodles that's full of free stuff and information. My kids make some of the designs. I can help you teach the girls how to create some wild photos.
There's a carnival on Van Dyke and 13 or 14 mile. :) Well, that sounds fun to me.
I am not sure where you are but alot of the teens enjoy going up to the new Partridge Creek mall to hang out and go to a movie. Also there is this:

Greetings D.,
If you haven't found anything to do this weekend with your daughter and her friend, why not have movie night or a sleep over. Find a good movie everyone agrees on, pop some pop corn serve some good treats and have fun!
Hi!
I like to interact with my son and his friends, sometimes, too! I get the speed scrabble out(scrabble, without the board game) and make popcorn, get some pop and rent a dvd. That way it's light hearted talking while playing the game, then a movie. The kids seem to like it. Sometimes I have an ice cream night with it. Have fun. Glad you're interacting with them! How about a spa night, where you are like the "spa" attendant who makes up the facials? My friends did that, I don't have girls, but maybe if you pull out the polish, etc. it'd be fun. Good Luck! M.S.
I love checking out the Family Fun calendar for great ideas. It's set up by area code so you can check in your area, or an area you'll be traveling to in Michigan :)

I know that most of the local YMCA's have a teen night every Sat evening. I would just log on to ymca.org and check it out.
you could take them frisbee disc golfing. they have courses at most of the local parks, and its free, all you need to do is bring your own frisbees.
Hi D.,
The girls usually love malls, but I usually take my daughter & her friends to a movie. Ask her what she would like to do, she will appreciate that. Check out MLive.com they list all the event going on around town on a daily paper also the paper does too buy not sure what day that is.
I don't know where Roseville is but if you are close to Lansing, there is a Christian Nightclub called "Visions". It starts at 9:00 pm and is on the corner of Lake Lansing road and Larch/Cedar. Awesome live music. My 17 year old son has played the drums there before. It's free.
Try Friday night live at the new DIA.
There are concerts, art workshops, performances, etc.
A great opportunity to share fun, culture and something unique!

There is "Music in the Park" in Plymouth on Friday nights at 7pm. Check out Plymouth's website for details. Very family oriented and you could go shopping or grab dinner as well.
