I am posting this for my friend as she does not use the internet much. A good friend of mine is trying to get rid of unopened containers of Similac Formula. She had recently purchased various types of this formula for her niece's baby, but the niece left the home and now my friend has all of this unused formula. She has (pardon me if the spelling is wrong as I do not have the formula's exact name in front of me) 2 or 3 containers of Ailumentum for severe allergies/colic (purple top); one container of Similac Advanced (Blue top), and two containers of Similac sensitive (pink top). I told her I would try on this site as I know there are a lot of moms out there who might have helpful suggestions. Please feel free to contact me if you have any advice on how she might return these items. Thank you!
I would be happy to come get them from you to donate to the children's shelter that my mother in law works for. They need diapers and formula SO BAD right now due to the lack of state funding they are receiving.
have her return them to the store she bought them from. As long as they aren't opened, she shouldn't have a problem.
Has she taken them back to wherever she bought them? I'm not sure if I'm missing something here...if they are unopened she should be able to take them back. Otherwise, she can probably get some money for them by selling them on Craig's List.
Hi Robin! Not sure if you have already received this suggestion, but one thought would be to donate it to a homeless or battered womens' shelter. Both places quite often have women in need with babies. Another idea is to donate it to a local church that has a food pantry for those in need. I'm sure a donation like this would be greatly appreciated since formula is so expensive. Hope this helps!
I don't think you can return cans of formula , even if they are unopened incase they have been tampered with in any way , she be best off trying to sell them on craigs list or something similar
i would donate them to your local pregnancy assistance center or check at some childrens resale shops that would give them away to people that need them.
I'm not sure, but maybe a food pantry would take them.
If she has a receipt she can probably return them. Unfortunatly, infant formula is a very high theft item so I doubt anyone would take them back without a receipt. She could call the store where she bought it though and ask.
If she can't get return it, she could donate it to a local food pantry. She can note the cost and put it in a file and claim the loss then on her income taxes.
