I'm thinking of buying this book and just wanted to know if anyone has read it yet. Was it helpful? Easy Recipes? , etc.

We have this one
http://www.amazon.com/Sneaky-Chef-Strategies-Healthy-Favo...

I just heard that the author of that one is alleging Ms. Seinfeld plagiarized her work.

It is out of stock all over town, so good luck finding copy. You may want to call Barnes and Noble and get name on waiting list.
However, I have taken the opportunity in the mean time to steam and puree some veggies and added them to just about anything I have cooked in the past week and my 2 1/2 year old has been none-the-wiser. In fact, I put cauliflower in a hamburger helper type meal (only homemade, not packaged) and it was delicious and I couldn't even tell it was in there and I'm the one who cooked it!!!! So, if you can't get ahold of the book right away, be creative and just try adding these steamed, pureed veggies to your own recipes.
Good luck getting a copy and bon apetit!!

I bought it last week. The recipes aren't hard- but all of that pureeing is a bit of a pain. Now my freezer is stocked with purees and I am starting the recipes- so far my kids have liked the two I've tried (pancakes with beets and brownies with spinach.) Unless you have a good food processor (KitchenAid, etc) or an awesome blender I would just buy the pureed baby food (squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, etc) instead of pureeing them on your own- that is what I will do next time! If nothing else, it gave me ideas of ways to sneak vege's in that I would never have thought up myself!

Apparently, there is another similar cookbook out called "The Sneaky Chef" that has some of the same ideas.

There are several of the recipes on oprah.com. I printed out a few, haven't tried them yet though.

I have not read it, but want it too. I saw Jessica Seinfeld (author and wife of Jerry) on Oprah and it looked amazing. Oprah raved about all of the recipes and Jessica said her kids eat everything - now healthy. She said she spends one hour each week, boiling and pureeing the vegetables. Then she cooks as usual.
I say buy the book! Let's get these kids eating right!

Good luck!

I have not read it but being a new mom have bought about 30 or so books on health, babies, cooking and whatnot. It gets expensive! So I have resorted to calling half price books first to see if they have it, how much it is and have them hold it. I compare that to Amazon.com used books. Most of the shipping on that is 3.99 so you can calculate the cost and see which is cheaper before you order it new. All of the used books I have purchased have been in good condition so I advocate it :)

I have the book, I think its pretty straight forward and easy however, I have not yet made the purees that are mentioned in the book. I guess if you have a food processor, all will be easy enough to handle.....And, If you don't mind making the purees, I think it will work well.

I have seen Jessica Sienfeld on Oprah & Regis & Kelly and I think she is just so cute to begin with. She makes cooking look so fun and then to add healthy. I have not bought the book yet, but have been talking about it with some teachers at school and it sounds great.

We have been teaching the kids in kinder how to make things using fruits and veggies this month. We made carmel apples and pumkin empenada's and can you believe 1/2 of the kids would not even touch the fruit because they didn't like apples or pumkin. The apples had all that yummy, sticky carmel and they got to chose peanuts or oreos to put on them. They wouldn't even pick off the stuff like did like. I would love to try the chicken nuggets & like somebody else said the mac & cheese to see if they would eat that.

Good luck and have fun.

No I have not read it. But I have started doing some of the things that were shown on Oprah. My kids hate veggies, we never eat them as a matter of fact (I do, they don't)

I have started off slow in just adding the pureed sweet potatoes in the mac-n-cheese...my picky eater thought it was the best mac-n-cheese ever. She couldn't even tell it was in there! This is also the same girl who does not like peanut butter or pizza.

I also added some pureed brocoli to some other dishes and they could not tell. (I know I spelled pureed wrong, I'm sleepy)

I have asked for the cookbook for Christmas and cannot wait to get it and start trying out the other recipes! Hope this helps.

I bought the book off Amazon, and there were tons of them on the site, you can also get one off of ebay. I paid about 5.00 less (including shipping) than what they are sold for at book stores. And i saved my self time and gas! I loved the recipies, and i havent tried any of them yet, my MIL says she has herd and tried a few of them and loved them. Good Luck, i say its worth the money to buy them. Also the baby food jars is a good idea except you dont get as much in them vs. if you did it your self. You can by a pretty good processor at Walmart for 30 or under.
