If it is Chad White and Jennifer Kuzel, they are both excellent doctors. I work in the OB field and they have very good reputations. Good luck!
Hi Everyone!!
I may be freaking out a little, but I wanted to see if anyone else had been a patient at St. John OB/GYN associates. I had my first two children with an OB who was in his own practice and has since retired;( Finding a new OB has been harder than I thought. The first one tried to prescribe me a medicine that when the pharmacist called said it would be unsafe to take this early in my pregnancy. So I talked to the OB and she just blew off my concerns (yep, so I immediately left that practice). I found this OB and the staff all seem friendly and caring, but I would feel better if I knew if others had had good experiences with this office:) Any info would be greatly appreciated:) The Doctors in this office are Hartzell, Kuzel, McReynolds, Chari, and White. (Two of them work part-time , I've not heard of this before so I'm not sure if I should be concerned about it).
Thank you so much:)

Thank you so much to everyone who responded to my question:) I truly appreciate it! I'm going to meet all the doctors in the office and then make a final decision. Most people had positive feedback about these Doctors which puts my mind at ease:)
Thanks,
Nicola

Hi N.,
Dr. Hartzell is my doctor and I can not be happier with him. I have some great stories about my delivery. I honestly believe that I would not have been able to have a vaginally delivery of my twins if it weren't for Dr. Hartzell. He is wonderful and I HIGHLY recommend him. Good Luck.

I use Women's Comprehensive health care and see Dr. Chad White. They have several offices in the area. The office I use is on Garfield just north of 17 Mile and I have seen him in the office on 23 Mile in the RainTree plaza. I have been seeing him since my son was born almost 11 years ago. He is the one who did the follow up check up and I've been seing him ever since. I have been with the office for over 20 years and found out though a converstaion that my aunt and cousins were using the same doctor I was. I was originally seeing Dr. Mascarin and he is a wonderful man, been practicing for a long time.
Dr While listens to me and pays attention to what I tell him and talks to me about what I need to know and what is going on.
Good luck

I was a patient of Dr. White's. I saw him at the Romeo Plank office. The office staff were SUPER nice. They recognized me and acted as if they knew me from my first appointment. Dr. White was very nice too. I liked that he had a "better safe than sorry" approach, and didn't hesitate to do tests, etc. if needed. He did an early ultrasound and found a cyst on my ovary, which then had to be removed. Dr. White did the surgery and I felt very comfortable with this. While in the hosptital for surgery (at 14 weeks), I saw Dr.s Chari and McReynold, who were also very nice. When I told Dr. McReynolds that the nurser were not checking my baby's heartbeat each day as they were ordered, She ordered them to check it each shift! Dr. Hartzell ended up delivering my daughter and he was very nice too. I also referred a friend to Dr. White and she loved him also.
One thing to note....Because this practice is a group of Dr.s, it will be different than having only one. For example, I only saw Dr. White for office visits (although I had the opportunity to see all of them to meet them), and a different doc delivered me. The way they work is that each has a turn in the hospital, and if you go into labor on a day different from your doc, another dr. will deliver you. The good thing about this is that I NEVER had to wait long for my appointments, because the doc was never running off to the hospital. Also, Dr. White told me that they generally like to induce their patients at 39 weeks while your doc is in the hospital so that he/she can deliver you. However, you do not HAVE to do this if you don't want to. I wasn't comfortable with this at first, but at 39 weeks I was having such pain I was begging him to induce me but couldn't get in for a few days. I ended up going into labor naturally, and that is why I had a different doc deliver. If you are concerned about this, I would just be sure to see each doc at least once during your pregnancy to get to know them all.
Overall, I think you will be happy. They are all very nice. It's a good practice.
Sidenote: My sister works in the NICU at St. John, and she has heard good things about this practice as well, this is how I chose them.
Good Luck and God's Blessings on your pregnancy!
I started seeing the doctors in this practice 9 yrs ago when I moved to Michigan from Florida. I have several friends & family members that see these doctors, mainly Dr. Kuzel and Dr. McReynolds. The two of them have delivered most of my nieces and nephews. I've found both of them to have a great bedside manner and the nurses are great, too. Hope this helps...
I work in a doctors office and we refer to that office alot. We refer to doctor McReynolds the most. If you want a smaller office we also refer to an office Dr.McCarren. I hope this helps.
I have not heard of this OB ... but then again I work for a practice that works out of Beaumont Royal Oak. It is not unusual for dr's to work parttime. Questions you should ask: Do the parttime dr's deliver? Can I get in same day if I'm having a problem? What are your hours? Do your dr's do their own calls? When I go into labor will I have to see a resident on duty? Do I see every dr. during my pregnacy? And most important do you take my insurance? Hope this helps. If you have other questions you need to ask me feel free.
I have used these OBs since 1997. Hartzell delivered my first son, Chari delivered my second son, and Kuzel delivered my daughter. Due to insurance issues, I haven't been to the office in about 2 years. I LOVED all of the doctors and nurses at this office. When I moved from Warren to Madison Heights, I still went to their St. Clair Shores office! It was a little drive, but I trust them that much. When I was pregnant with my daughter and closer to Beaumont, everyone thought I was crazy for going to these OBs and delivering at St. John's. I used to be OCampo's patient, but she stopped doing deliveries in 1998/1999. Don't know if she is still there, but she only sees gyno patients.

I use to go to Dr. White and I thought he was great. I have a lot of friends that also go that same office and nothing but good things. I currently go to Dr. Agosta due to insurance changes but I would recommend Dr. White to anyone. -Hope that helps - J.
I have used this office, sadly because of insurance I had to leave. Kuzel was my doc through three of my pregnancies and was great! I have also had experience with Hartzell and Chari, who were also great! The only thing is that YOUR doctor may not be the one who delivers your child, as one of them is always "on-call"...if you are able to deal with that then they are a great choice.
I've been with that practice for about 5 years and love them. Hartzell delivered my daughter and Chari delivered my son. If you can see Chari, she's my favorite. Kuzel is okay, but kinda rough with her exams. Dr. White is really great too and Dr. McReynolds is really classy. They all take extra time to listen to my concerns. The nurses there rock too!! While I was pregnant they all learned my name and made sure to speak to me at every visit. I noticed they do that with all their patients. Sandy is Dr. Chari's nurse and is super sweet. You can't go wrong with this group of professionals.

I can't speak for all of the Docs in the practice, but I used to see Jennifer Kuzel for GYN appointments. I found her to be quite distant and, frankly, more interested in the book I was reading than doing a thorough examination. I almost always waited close to an hour past my appointment to see the doctor. She is not someone I would recommend.
Good luck in your search!
