Is anybody's kids having seizures? My daughter is having seizures and they don't seem to be getting better. We have been aggresivly fighting with her seizures for the past year and a half. Does anybody want to talk.

What can I do next?

I'm not sure what kind of seizures your daughter is having, but my almost 16 month daughter has seizures, too. She had her first one when she was 8 months old, they decided it was from a fever (febrile). We have no idea where her fevers come from either. She had her second seizure a few days before her 1st birthday then recently at 15 months, she had 4 in one day. She's had an MRI and an EEG. The MRI came out normal, but the EEG was abnormal. She also sees a neurologist, but he's hesitant in putting her on meds just yet. I guess I really don't have any advise to give you, but just wanted to offer you support.

yes, my son Ryan is having them this Easter makes a year. The road has been bumpie along the way. When Ryan was born had colic, cried a lot and then the seizures started. We have been to two doctors and I have found one who cares....Dr J Rotenburg ( Nerologist) You see his first doctor proscribed Keppra sol and Ryan wold have these scream fits its was horable after calling the doctor after hours many times switched him to Toppamax (sp?). However the first doctor did not address the sleep issues and was border line rude. Ryan has Easter Seals ( a state organization that helps children with speach delay and sensory issues intervention). They suggested Dr. Rotenburg and what a differance a doctor made....we now give Ryan Toppmax and clodin ( to help sleep)....its not perfect but there are far more good days than bad...Ryan has been seizure free since Feb. Also Ryan had two kinds just an after thought the first time was a typical one were he slumped over in the car and shook, the second is like his head nods left or right involuntary with his eyes echoing. The best thing I can say is be proactie, educate and do not take no for an answer keep trying....every day is a new day.
God Bless
