HI! My daughter just started a Mommy and Me Ballet (2yrs old) class at Pickerington Dance Academy. It is located behind Dairy Queen. They have a website. I went here on a recommendation.
I am interested to see if there are any good dance classes in the area for my daughter who is turning 3 this month. She is currently taking tumbling classes at fitkidzclub and we LOVE it there! Just curious if there are any recommendations for classes such as ballet, tap, etc. Thanks so much!

Stay away from Blackford Studio in Pickerington. The owners are older and a bit racist. Their nice people but they run the studio in a away that doesn't really match attitudes of today. I hope im making sense. She is very cheap tho ( $ 26 a month) but I don't think the kids really learn much do to the fact the owner is too busy discussing her beliefs to the parents during the kids rehearsal time. I think she stays in business out of loyalty. A lot of the parents had her when the were kids. She is entertaining but don't expect your kids to get into ballet met by going there. Its is funny watching an old white women trying to teach hip hop..;)
I have a lot of friends who take their daughters to Pinnell and they love it. When my daughter is of age I will definitely be taking her to Pinnell for class. Here is the information on the center I do not know if you live in the area or not.

Hi B.! I highly recommend Passe' Dance Center in Pickerington. My daughter took her first dance class with them at 2-1/2. They have ballet, tap, and jazz for 3-4 year olds. Angie and Courtney (the owners) are just wonderful! My daughter is now 6-1/2 and we have been with Angie and Courtney the entire time......along with many of the same girls (everyone seems to stay!).
Passe' started classes a few weeks ago, so I am not sure if they have space left.....but, give them a call at ###-###-#### to find out. Their website is passedancecenter.com. I am sure that you will be very happy with them!
Good luck!

Hi B.!
I don't know whether you're interested in your daughter becoming serious about ballet, or if you're just looking for a class where she can improve her motor skills, etc.
I would call Ballet Met and find out what they suggest for your daughter's age level.
I started in ballet classes when I was 3, and I adored it. Sadly (for the ballet aspect of me), I was too tall to be taken seriously by any company, but I still adore dancing, and it has kept me in excellent shape.
Good luck!
I spoke to Dublin Dance Center about classes for my daughter (4). It sounded like a great creative movement program. However, I am not going to sign her up there because they don't use classical music. They use a lot of princess movie music, like Disney themes, etc, which I do not encourage at home. Too commercial for our family. But if you like that kind of thing, it otherwise sounded like a terrific program. Very child-centered.
Good luck
We take our kids to Pinnell. My cousins went there when they were younger, when we moved here a year ago and were researching dance schools my aunt suggested them so we looked a little closer and finally decided that Pinnell was the place for us. They have everything from pre-combo (2 yr olds with their parents in the classroom) all the way up to competitive cheer. We were told that if we just wanted our kids to dance, take them anywhere, but if you want them to have a possible future in it then take them to Pinnell...they are a nationally recognized dance school. Right now my oldest son is taking beginning Tap, my middle son is taking Jazz and my daughter is in Combo 3-20 min of Ballet, 20 min of Jazz and 20 min of Tap. Dollemayer (not sure I spelled that right) is another popular dance studio in the area.
Good Luck

My daughter goes to Blackford Dance on the corner of Milnor and Refugee. She offers a full set of options. We have taken tap, ballet, jazz and baton from her. She is very reasonable in price and her costumes and recitals are excellent. The number is ###-###-####. We have been going there for four years.
My two daughters take Ballet at the New Albany Ballet Company. They begin them as early as 2... this will be my 2 year olds first year and my almost 5 year old 3rd year. They offer tap, jazz and ballet plus combo classes. We have had excellent experiences with the quality of the classes as well as the teachers. Plus the recital at the end of the year is spectacular. You really get to see how talented the girls are as they grow with the teachers. Anyhow... its a little expensive, especially for 2 now, but I think its worth it! They have a nice website... its www.newalbanyballetcompany.com. They have open houses going on right now and you can go look around....good luck
